I'm all for having TOB ex-patriots join. It makes for a richer mix of ideas. But can we please draw the line at Brooke? I never knew Brooke. How would you describe her? |

OK now that we are talking past posters of lore WTF happened to Ommie Bong Hit ? And can someone give me the rundown on this guy as he was simply a pain in my arse as well as others......

I have some theories: 1. He was brought on to the board specifically to harass certain people. I imagine he was given a list of people to go after. Now that those people are all gone, JQP is happy, and his work there is complete. 2. JQP is NOT happy everyone deserted his board, and blamed Omar (and others) for it. When JQP had words with Omar about it, Omar said FU and left. 3. He is a troll, and no longer has anybody to bug, so he lost interest. or 4. He's dead. |

I exchanged notes with him several months ago. He simply got tired of all the animosity, as did most of us. He’s off to greener pastures

Brooke, AKA, Bev, is a conservative but has only one or two issues she rails on and on about, and for those who think me intractable, Bev sets that standard. She was famous for calling people, even other conservatives, names (like idiot) if they don’t agree with her. I invited her to join a conservative community where I was a moderator, and the other moderators asked me to get rid of her... |

Thank you, GoodDave, I think I had her mixed up with Hanna, who goes on and on with Luca-length posts that nobody reads. Unlike Luca's posts, Hanna's were boring to the max. Hanna was one of the original TOB members when JQP started the whole thing. She knows JQP personally and the three of them (including Paul) all met on that civic committee years ago (I don’t recall what their committee was supposed to accomplish). |

The group was fighting against the Board of Supervisors and the politicians in Newport Beach to close John Wayne Airport and relocate it at the closing El Toro. It was a NIMBY war. A lot of the original JQP board members came over from the Register site when it closed to fight the airport wars. It was a lot of fun then, with a successful outcome where party politics didn't matter.
Hanna was living in South Orange County at that time, but has since moved to Minnesota, and continued to post during the airport fights.

Howdy folks. Heard about this place and thought I'd wade in. Glad to see so many familiar names. I'm a registered republican and proud of that fact, but I can't stand Trump and most of what he says and does. He only pretends to be Republican in my view, so my posts here will likely reflect that and I'm sure many of my views already have me labeled as a Liberal. To be clear, I came from a long line of Republican Party voters but my wife and kids are all Liberal, so it can make for some interesting conversations at times.
