There are few things that infuriate me as much as when public servants forget they are working at the pleasure of the public. It seems to be a byproduct of bureaucracy regardless of political affiliation, albeit since the democrats want more government, the more blatant examples tend to come from their administrations.
Bidens administration does it from the top down, setting an example that the rest of their party happily duplicates. When Joe Biden makes a public statement or has a press conference, then wanders away from the stage with a smirk on his face, refusing to address questions, he is giving the middle finger to the American people. The Sevret Service should drag his ass back to the microphone & he should answer any question asked. He may be the chief executive, but we own the company. He works for us.
Today's Congressional hearing with the head of the Secret Service was more of this kind of crap. The director should be bounced out on her ass immediately for the way she stonewalled members from both parties. Again, she works for us. Either answer the questions or you are fired.
It can even trickle down to the local level, from the cop who goes rogue to the DMV employee who really has no interest in helping you. I recall with laughter that at TOB, when a complaint was made baout the DMV, ParrotPaul would chime in that he "had just been by the DMV last week & their service was impeccable". Poor guy must have been registering a vehicle every week
For all their talk of fearing a future Trump administration becoming a dictatorship, the lefts willingness to accept this type of behavior betrays their view of what democracy is. They are very comfortable with a few "enlightened" individuals making decisions without being answerable to the public. They believe the public exits to serve the government, not the other way around.
For all of his personality faults, you have to give Trump credit that when he is President, he knows who he is working for.
