There will be a blowup between Trump and Musk at some point.
Matt Gaetz is a bad choice

I think Rubio is a bad choice - he is too much a politician. Gaetz was a surprise, but perhaps he is someone who is interested in breaking down the deep state that sensors people and uses lawfare to go after political opponents.

Culture buy in > competence.
The most success I've had in an organization is when I surrounded myself with people who shared values as me. In the early years I went after the resume, but wound up knocking heads more often than not.
Clearly the challenge is to be aware of the potential echo chamber, but I think having the same core values is more important.

Matt Gaetz is there to clean out the FBI and DOJ not to run it. The same with Pete Hegseth with the DOD and Pentagon. The same with Homeland Security, FEMA, ATF, DOE, CIA, NASA and NSA. These agencies are a government in our government. Too big and too powerful. We are past the nice guy time.

During the process of cleaning them out, I would think a competent candidate would become apparent.

Assuming they would need to be replaced at all DOGE will take care that! Wonder what the over/under on polymarkets would be on how many agencies and/or departments get "CLOSED"!

Of all the things that have transpired in the last ten days, I'm perhaps most intrigued by Elon and Vivek taking on the DOGE assignment. If they take it seriously and don't go off the deep end, Washington DC could be a ghost town in two years. Think of all the empty offices, and all the expense accounts that don't get filled out.
On the other hand, the national unemployment rate could jump by ten points if all those useless bureaucrats get the boot. And that's something the Democrats could use against the GOP in the 2026 election.

Well, if they deport the 10 - 30 million illegal aliens currently living in the country, not only does that open up quite a few jobs for those unemployed bureaucrats, it also eases the housing shortage & cuts down on overcrowded classrooms.

I’m not so sure,Gentlemen. Those federal employees have an awful lot of protections and it can be very hard to get rid of them. I’ve heard stories before of people trying to reform these bureaucracies, but without a whole lot of assistance from the entrenched establishment it’s very hard to get anything done. I remember working briefly at the Washington VA hospital which was actually the worst place I’ve ever worked in my life. Nobody seem to give a damn and you couldn’t motivate people to do work any faster than they wanted to. And my understanding was that you couldn’t fire any of them , I’m very impressed with Elon Musk’s ability, but without any legal authority I believe he will become too frustrated after a period of time. He’s used to running things and it’s not going to happen here. ………..Luca
