It is my understanding that the department will end on July 4th (Musk and Vivek). It will shut down. They are there to make recommendations. Luca, I am hopeful we can do something. We will see.

That’s probably good news. I couldn’t see the two of them sticking around indefinitely butting heads against all of the Washington establishment. They’ll look around, see what can be improved, make recommendations and get the hell out of town with their sanity still intact.

It was reported yesterday that Musk and Ramaswamy felt they had already identified $500 billion of waste and were hopeful of reaching $2 trillion. Not a bad start, if anything comes of it.

Luca, a lot of history and precedent associated with your takes, I hope you have a small bit of belief that this will not become an exercise in futility.

I’m not so sure,Gentlemen. Those federal employees have an awful lot of protections and it can be very hard to get rid of them. I’ve heard stories before of people trying to reform these bureaucracies, but without a whole lot of assistance from the entrenched establishment it’s very hard to get anything done. I remember working briefly at the Washington VA hospital which was actually the worst place I’ve ever worked in my life. Nobody seem to give a damn and you couldn’t motivate people to do work any faster than they wanted to. And my understanding was that you couldn’t fire any of them , I’m very impressed with Elon Musk’s ability, but without any legal authority I believe he will become too frustrated after a period of time. He’s used to running things and it’s not going to happen here. ………..Luca Wouldn't that legal authority come from the Senate and the House, with President Trump's signature?

Assuming they make good on the promise to publicly expose the wasteful spending, there should be enough outrage to make significant progress towards reducing it.

Assuming they make good on the promise to publicly expose the wasteful spending, there should be enough outrage to make significant progress towards reducing it. Standing in the village square (WASH. DC) w/ your pants down before an irate public (Constituent/Voter) holding torches @ your public exposure (naked body) can be persuasive. Do it swiftly, quickly, as the public (We the People) and engaged in the moment, this momentum victory. Burn Baby Burn !!!

In addition to having a short attention span, Americans are fickle and easily distracted when it comes to the cause du jour. If the heat for reducing waste in government becomes too high, don't be surprised if a national or global emergency is manufactured to take the pressure off and move their focus on to something else.

An old timer who has been fighting the system forever, who knows it inside & out, could be a valuable lynchpin to point out the weak points of the Death Star.

Good point RSM, the Paul's are a valuable asset, as stated numerous times, I'm a big fan of Rand.

I've been onboard with the Trump picks excluding Gaetz... I just don't think he has enough experience.
but Dr. Oz? GTFO

Frog, I think Trump is throwing the proverbial monkey wrench into the deep state with that Oz pick. lol Gaetz is out. That was a surprise pick for me in the first place. I think RFK has more experience, but not on the prosecution side. Now Pam Bondi. I don't know much about her.
On a side note: I heard a guy say that most of the people who voted for Trump didn't particularly care for him Perhaps, but that shows how much people disliked DEI, men in women's sports, endless wars or even an escalation to WWIII, boys in girls locker rooms, and the mutilation of children. It is a culture that needs to be shunned and destroyed. Personally, I liked Trump from day one. Not because of his policies per se, but after the first term, he has a good record IMO, but because he wasn't part of the political establishment, the deep state, the swamp etc. President Trump, tear down this (wall) deep state and perpetual Washington class.
