Euthanasia is the other side of the coin of abortion in the ongoing march of the Culture of Death. Whether one wants to call it "assisted suicide", "aid in dying", "assisted dying", or "death with dignity" the result it the same. Once a society accepts the principles underlying the "right to die" on ones own terms, tragic case like this one in the Netherlands are the inevitable result.
And always in the name of compassion.

I read that earlier today, Credo, and I could not fornicating believe it. Killing a 17-year-old girl because she is depressed and has not responded to treatment. If anybody attempted that in the US they would be lynched before the courts even got to them.
This is completely indefensible. A 17-year-old does not have the maturity to make that kind of decision and those goddamn doctors should know better. Where the hell did they study medical ethics?
There are those in the US who speak admiringly of the trends and fashions in Europe but I was truly shocked by this. This does not represent progress in any sense or even civilization. You would have thought that euthanasia, questionable as it is ethically, would be reserved for end-of-life decisions or intolerable chronic pain in an adult who has failed all treatment. To murder a 17-year-old girl because she is depressed is unfathomable to me. Great job, Mom, you worthless piece of.............................Luca

This is, however, a logical event in the progression once we start down the road of devaluing life...
Once life becomes an inconvenience, either physically or situationally, we have but to end it and all is well...

Maybe the impetus for the Green New Deal??

Turns out the story was wrong. She wasn’t euthanized. She starved herself to death. The media was right on the ball, as usual..............Luca

Beat me to it, Luca.
I read that correction, as well. What’s more, the doctors and her family were against her suicide and tried to talk her out of it.
