Being that healthcare is a huge part of our lives and a huge part of our nations GDP I thought it prudent to create a thread on the issue as it is front and center in the DNC Debates and ever more so in the crumbling of the Democrats and President Obama's ACA and "ObamaCare".
Let me just preface this with a historic political quote from our dear leader Nancy Pelosi... "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it," And many of us believe it is AOC that is the inept airhead!
Yet here we are 8 years later and yesterday the House voted overwhelmingly to end another big part of the Obamacare plan known as the "Cadillac Tax". (The Affordable Care Act's high-cost plan tax (HCPT), popularly known as the “Cadillac tax,” is a 40 percent excise tax on employer plans exceeding $10,200 in premiums per year for individuals and $27,500 for families.)

Why the wheels are coming off the Obamacare ‘Cadillac tax’
"I regret to inform you that a death may be in the offing. Obamacare’s “Cadillac tax” is facing a bipartisan congressional firing squad. The House voted on Wednesday to repeal it, and the Senate may follow suit. Someday soon, the tax may slip into the political boneyard without ever taking effect." ~ WAPO
House Democrats, Republicans unite to repeal ObamaCare 'Cadillac Tax'

"An overwhelming bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives voted Wednesday to repeal the Affordable Care Act's so-called "Cadillac Tax" more than eight years after the legislation known as "ObamaCare" became law.
The tax would have slapped a 40 percent levy on the value of health insurance plans above $11,200 for single coverage and $30,100 for family policies beginning in 2022.
Lawmakers kept delaying the tax's implementation before the House voted 419-6 to repeal it. The margin increases chances that the Senate will follow the House and send the measure to President Trump for his signature."
What a mess the Democrats created and now find themselves in! You have the House now repealing taxes they initially implemented on businesses whom provide employee insurance plans to protect those plans that they now understand protect their constituents especially the unions when they for years tried to sell them otherwise? And to make it even better the Democratic Party is running candidates for president in 2020 that want to ELIMINATE employees plans! WHAT! So bernie and Lizzy and Kamala are advocating for something the HOUSE just showed them by a vote.... NO!
“I’ve been a supporter of the Cadillac tax because I thought it would” lower health care costs, said Representative Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the No. 2 Democrat in the House. “But I’ve read some additional material on it and it’s obviously overwhelmingly thought this will not have the effect in terms of raising money or controlling cost that I thought it would have.”
""This tax would drive employers to reduce the health care benefits they provide to their employees, making medical care less affordable and creating serious access barriers for millions of workers," Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., said in a statement after the repeal passed the House. "It would also disproportionately and unfairly impact older workers, women and working families in expensive geographic areas."
You can't make this stuff up... the Democrats do not understand where they came from or where they are going and by the looks of it they do not even know what their party stands for. So far in 2019 they have shot themselves so many times in the foot I am not sure they have any political toes left!
