There's a question I've had for some time that I haven't been able to figure out: Why do so many members of this forum continue to return to TOB and engage in the insulting bullcrap that passes for discussion and debate over there? You all know that place is a bucket of piss, so why keep returning and jumping in? It's a mortally wounded wreck on life support, and you're just extending its miserable life. There's not much sadder than a guy who keeps calling his ex-wife after she kicks him out and divorces him. Why can't you let it go?

Who doesn't like a good train wreck every now and then?
The difference is the guys seem to be having a little fun at their expense, as opposed to trying to have a real conversation.
I've thought about doing the same, but I'll be dammed if I'll participate on a forum that's branded me as some outcast.
Why are you continuing to look in at it, MDD?

Why are you continuing to look in at it, MDD? Primarily to look at the football transfer rumors and news. But I guess I also like to sniff a good septic tank as much as anyone. I just don't jump in and start swimming. |

I was about to comment to PTG that he is fighting the good fight over there recently.... I guess its entertaining? Agree with MDDad but there are sports guys still over that have input I wouldn't micd to have here.... that was what was hard for me as I lost the HSF stuff over the political stuff in which I never engaged.

There is something satisfying about watching something you despise get right up to the edge of dying, only to be revived and then have to go through the death spiral again. Over & over & over... That is how Deathpool had his cancer cured and acquired the ability to heal and/or regenerate. |

Curiosity. You wonder what sort of reasoning people are using to arrive at conclusions that seem thoroughly counterintuitive.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the concept of “cognitive dissonance.“ It’s the situation where the more the foundations of a belief system are undermined, the more strongly the adherents cling to those discredited conclusions. Sure, it’s pointless to argue opinions. It’s like arguing what the best color is. But sometimes the facts are obvious yet people still deny them and cling to their previous beliefs. If nothing else it’s interesting to watch the contorted logic evolve.
It’s not as though a lifeline is being thrown to TOB. If that board is going to survive it’s going to do so whether or not any of us continue to visit it. I don’t think my Intermittent participation is going to make any difference in the long term. I never took any of the gratuitous animosity over there very personally, anyway..................Luca

After reading the latest dialogue between Luca, Prof, Red and the others on OCC, I'm reminded of why I left there in the first place.
I get way too triggered by having a different opinion called ignorant, naive, ill-informed, etc by those guys. Couple that with being publicly branded as an undesirable, and having basic functions taken away, hell would freeze over before I'd ever post there again. I guess I am intolerant, and/or must be really full of myself.
