I get the sense a good number of people feel the same way. The latest crap with the City of SF officially calling the NRA a domestic terrorist organization, I'm likely now going to join it so I can then be considered a terrorist as well. Hell, I get triggered by these loons, I may as well make it official.
Back to POTUS, there's lots of things he's doing that I like, but there's lots I don't like...or maybe I just don't understand. In any event, thought I'd share.

I think a lot of people feel that way, Bick. It’s hard to work up a lot of enthusiasm for a guy who too often comes out and says such off-the-wall things or tweets like a millennial in heat. But so many of his policies are just common sense that you would think any normal person would support: stabilizing the border, trying to halt the Chinese intellectual property theft, trying to bring home jobs and manufacturing from overseas, holding allies responsible for contributing a reasonable amount to their own security, making it clear to the Chinese that they don’t own an entire ocean, etc. He goes about it like a bull in a china shop (Churchill once described a particular American general as “a bull who brings his own china shop with him”)
But you have to measure him against the alternative. It makes him look a whole lot better. It’s like the old saying that at 2 AM as the bar is closing the woman sitting next to you on the barstool starts looking a whole lot better. Or as Churchill (Again) once put it in terms of economics “Capitalism is the worst possible economic system with the exception of all the others.“...........................Luca

I get all that, and definitely support the president, warts and all. What's new for me is how anti-leftist I am. I used to be able to just disagree, but now I want to be as far away from them as possible, and have grown intolerant of them.

I’ve said all along he comes off narcissistic to me. It would be great if someone would take his twitter account away and limit him to only scripted words, when he is in public.
However, I am also mindful of two things: - He was the only choice in the election, surprised though I was that he did actually win against the Clinton machine;
- He bugs the SH*T out of the snowflakes, particularly those in Congress.
In summary, I’m with Bick (et al) in that I don’t support all he does, but I do support a lot of it, particularly that stuff he does despite daily... hourly attacks from those who actually do hate him.

For one I attribute this board to Trump! Trumps action via policy and by millennial social media action created an environment over on TOB that gave us this new life here!
That said I too wonder why when all seems to be going well the President has to make a media action or reaction that gives his openly red meat. It’s almost like winning isn’t good enough. It’s as if when winning he needs to put himself purposely behind so he can win again... crazy.

My son thinks that Trump is brilliant in the fact that he always wants to control the latest news cycle, and doesn't want anything from the Left to gain momentum. I just wish he's shut up when things are going good.

In fact, one of the original complaints of Republican Never-Trumpers was that he had no consistent conservative political lineage or principles (and still doesn't). And I'll grant that this is a semi-valid valid criticism. That being said, Donald Trump's instincts are ferociously anti-Left, perhaps more so than any GOP President or nominee in modern history. And the fact that he unapologetic in his willingness to mock the Left and punch back twice as hard as he takes is (in IMHO) one of his greatest traits and what is also driving the Left to clinical insanity. Ad multos annos!

For me, the anti-left/pro-Trump choice in the title of this thread is a no-brainer, because I'm anti-Trump and make no bones about it. I agree with much of what he's done, but I think as a person he's one of the great shitholes in human history. (I feel it's OK to use that term since he used it first.)
With that said, the left has gone so far beyond any adult rational thought, that I would rather leave America than support almost anything they propose. Furthermore, if they were just loony, that would be acceptable, but they have gone to the point of proposing and attempting to silence all opposing thought. And that is anathema to everything I believe.

For your (plural) consideration: This just in and possibly worth consideration (from The NY Times): Mark Sanford Will Challenge Trump in Republican PrimaryYou recall Sanford is a former governor of and U.S. Representative from South Carolina. According to the article, I have yet to check out any of them.
