Mater Dei, CdM, Aliso Niguel and Foothill earn No. 1 rankings in CIF football poll

The CIF football polls are out and Mater Dei remains atop the CIF Division 1-2 rankings.

Some highlights:

—Corona del Mar is No. 1 in Division 3.

—Aliso Niguel is No. 1 and Sunny Hills second in Division 8.

—Foothill is No. 1 in Division 9.

—Segerstrom is No. 2 in Division 10.

—Portola moves up to No. 4 in Division 14.

Confusing week for me to pick..., surprised MV got so much elevation in rankings based on beating SC. They really didn't much beat them any different than CDM did. In fact CDM ran all over SC with 518 Total yards with MV yarning just 308. No question MV's "D" was dominate again and the strength of their team. What a game CDM and MV would be. Then how does Servite and JS fit in with these two publics? Didn't seem it would be this way but 2, 3, 4, 5 are a toss-up. Good for football!

I suppose we will get a MV matchup with Servite or JS during CIF as it is posted on 11/15 on their MP schedule? Seems both schools have scheduled MV as their opponent?

SK80--> I agree with you on your analysis of the MV and CDM offense and what they did to SC. CDM didn't punt once vs SC, however MV punted multiple times vs SC.

MV offense < CDM Offense and it's not even close.

MV defense > CDM Defense and it's not even close.

Would love to see CDM offense line up against MV defense. JUGGERNAUTS!
