It’s like the pollsters learned nothing from 2016! They did, they learned they can lie, guide a narrative and if its wrong so what......., I believe they will be wrong again, if so this time I expect some collateral damage to the polling swamp.

It's entirely possible that we will learn on Tuesday that bullshitting the pollsters has become the new national pastime. If that's the case, the polling industry can fade away into the dustbin of failed history, where it belongs.

And yet another concession, like I sated earlier this morning in the stock market we call it "CAPITULATION"! Iowa Poll: Donald Trump takes over lead in Iowa as Joe Biden fades www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/iowa-poll/2020/10/31/election-2020-iowa-poll-president-donald-trump-leads-joe-biden/6061937002/
(so wait, Biden just now fades?) © Copyright 2020, Des Moines Register and Tribune Co.Republican President Donald Trump has taken over the lead in Iowa as Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden has faded, a new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows just days before Election Day.The president now leads by 7 percentage points over Biden, 48% to 41%. Three percent say they will vote for someone else, 2% aren't sure and 5% don't want to say for whom they will vote.and I will add 4 of the 5% whom won't say to Trump!

It's entirely possible that we will learn on Tuesday that bullshitting the pollsters has become the new national pastime. If that's the case, the polling industry can fade away into the dustbin of failed history, where it belongs. Yeah, I believe they will learn that lesson. And I heard one pollster say that if they are as wrong this year as they were last election, polling in this country is probably toast. (I don't remember his exact wording). I think pollster bullshitting is only part of the problem. Polls in this country will never be accurate as long as one side acts violently towards the other side (or threatens to do so). I have no Trump flags or signs on my house. Main reason...I don't want to see my house spray painted or otherwise vandalized. I do have bumper stickers for our congressional race, our US Senate race, and a Trump sticker. Of those, the Trump sticker is only taped on, so when I leave my car in a store parking lot, it comes off. When I come out of the store, it goes back on. Obviously, the reason I do this is that I don't want my tires slashed, or my paint job keyed, or a window broken. It's not a case of being afraid of any aggressive leftist, but they are cowardly and attack in groups, or when you are not around to see what they are doing. Only one side is known for such things, with relatively rare exceptions. As long as things like this are commonplace, conservatives (and especially conservative Republicans) can never be polled accurately. I don't answer any phone calls from people I don't know, and even if I knew it was a pollster, I have no interest in talking to them.

I also don't have any flags or "vote for" signs on my property or car. I stuffed envelopes for Bobby Kennedy and loved George McGovern when I was in high school and college, and I didn't have any bumper stickers or flags for them, so I certainly wouldn't start with Trump.
I've also been a regular pollee (is that a word?) for the USC/Dornsife poll for two years, and I've taken part in about 120 polls with them in that time. (They actually pay you anywhere from $2 to $20 per poll, so it's brought in about a thousand dollars in that time.) I try to be as honest as I can with them, but if some unknown pollster called me on the phone, I'd jack them around for as long as I could keep them from hanging up on me.

I ... loved George McGovern when I was in high school and college... No wonder you made the negative comments about Nixon on that other thread. I was 9 years old during the 1972 election and even at that age, I knew McGovern was a liberal idiot who could never be a good president. Considering you call yourself right leaning, what you saw in him as an adult is difficult to fathom,

It's not difficult to fathom at all. While legally an "adult", I was a stupid, naive hippy in 1972. Fortunately, like most people, I grew up and became an adult. And unlike some people here, I can admit I was wrong.

A surge in youth votersPeople ages 18 to 29 are turning out to vote early in a big way.
According to data from the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, or CIRCLE, a research center at Tufts University, the numbers of young people voting early have skyrocketed, particularly in states that will be critical for Biden and Trump to win, such as Michigan, Florida and North Carolina.www.npr.org/2020/10/26/927803214/62-million-and-counting-americans-are-breaking-early-voting-recordsI wonder how many 18-29 year-olds are trump fans...

Look, I'm a Trump fan, but there is absolutely no way in hell Trump wins California and New York.
