But infinitely more important than any harm a floating plastic island 3x the size of France might be doing to the oceans' ecosystems, a moment of silence please for the first casualty of the man-made portion of climate change.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm emotionally crushed. This was a species of rat that lived only on a 12-acre coral island off the coast of Papua New Guinea, and the fact that it's gone forever because we allow farting cows is almost more than I can bear. I think flying the American flag at half-mast for a year is the least we can do to honor this tragic loss.

I'm still bummed about the Woolly Mammoth.
This is cartoonish, but seemingly factual. Haven't seen much in the way of argument about this.

I’m not much of a McConnell fan. But his plan to bring the Green New Deal up for a vote in the senate, forcing democrats to show their stripe (either voting for it or against it) is brilliant! Now, Chuck Schumer thinks he has side stepped the plot: First, he has called McConnells plan to bring the Democrat plan up for a vote, a “sham.” (Er, Chuck, it’s YOUR Plan, Homey)! But more importantly, according to an article in Westeen Journal blog, Schumer is urging “his” democrats to just vote “present.” Apparently oblivious to the fact that any vote that is not “for” the deal, is a vote against the deal. Moron!

Since secular liberals are typically big proponents of the Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest, the demise of the Australian mouse should be seen as the normal working out of nature.

OK, but no one claimed they’re the brightest bulb in the box. Yes, they fervent,y believe in natural selection... but they also believe it is man’s fault when something like this happens. one is tempted to believe these are opposing ideas, but they are not in the mind of a leftist. leftists are able to compartmentalize which allows them to consider opposing thoughts with neither one imposing on the other. Darwin’s Theories make sense to them scientifically, Man-made depletion is a political construct. See? Different needs, served by opposing ideas... both perfectly acceptable and, if you raise the issue, you’re branded homophobic (because they don’t yet have a word for envirophobicj.

And now for something completely different... The Daily Wire reports: Apparently, even the enviro-nuts are turning on her. And this little gem sums it up quite well:

I breezed thru his Twitter page and became a fan. Now I need to see what he DOES recommend. Good to see he was also in support of Trump pulling out of the Paris accord.
Thanks for posting this Dave

Thanks for posting this Dave TBH, I’ve not heard of Greenpeace for several years... i never thought I’d welcome them as a voice of reason.

Goes to show you just how far off the deep end the left has gone. Maybe, but more and more, I am moving over to the idea Bick irst put forth in this forum, that capitalism and responsible environmentalism ought to have a healthy respect for each other. I believe God has provided us <gesturing widely> all these resources for our use. It makes abundant good sense, then, that we be responsible stewards of the resources which is, I imagine, more in line with Greenpeace ideals than with Green New Deal ideals.

Does he mean public school kids fart too much when they eat burgers on Mondays? Yes, that must be his rationale!
