That's the least of the problems.
This ensures the best employees in that industry will flock to major franchises that are able to survive the higher labor cost.
Marginally profitable locations will close and leave those workers unemployed.
Those remaining will be left with the least skilled employees, giving an even greater advantage to the biggest players in the industry.

again some great insight by Gutfeld on this, certainly BIG CORP is in on this labor invasion... along with Dems salivating by flooding southern states and turning them blue.

This is the Democrat idea of fighting inflation. They are smart, ehh?? Flush the system with too many dollars in hands of fewer people, add more people less money per hand reduces inflation? Also discussed, not a California topic either but there is FEAR in BIG GOVERNMENT (especially on the party of hand outs, cradle to grave ideology etc) that Social Security needs "NET" amount of future people to support the system. The birth rate in America is declining and their needs to be a larger future work force... viola!

It seems to me that we consumers can easily impact this problem -- don't patronize fast food establishments. Even McDonald's will notice soon enough that they have a bunch of $20-an-hour employees standing around with their thumbs up their butts because they have nothing to do. Everyone on this forum can grill their own burgers, boil their own hot dogs, and make their own tacos and sandwiches rather than paying the exorbitant prices required to pay for employees making lawyer's wages. We have the power to fight this. But will we? I doubt it.

Damn MDDad, send me the referral to your lawyer at $20 an hour! " lawyer's wages" ! I do agree you can shop your $ how you please, we have seen how that works in our cancel culture society. However when I do break down and find myself at a fast food restaurant ( you know, we don't have so much have that option outside CDM ) I rarely if ever see employees standing around with nothing to do with their thumbs? They are actually product line workers that are machine like in their work.

Their pay keeps going up month after month or year after year and we happily eat the cost and keep them busy. We have the power to do otherwise, but we don't have the conviction.

I just see the old adage: Government tinkering creates monopolies, tyranny, and higher prices.... Just made that up, but IMO it is real. Sure, there is a small place for regulation, but way smaller than what we got. The minimum wage should be gone.

I always sense a hint of defeatism in your commentary & takes. I grant you, its easy to feel that but one cant keep throwing in the towel, you know what that result in the end will be.

That's pretty rich there, Gavin. You're concerned about "micro-cults" like Joe Rogan influencing your children, but you're not concerned that the American education system macro-cult influences them for six hours a day, five days a week, 40 weeks a year and for 22 years of their lives. At least Joe Rogan doesn't try to convince them to mutilate their bodies and cut off their genitals. Aside from being a piece of excrement, you are also a phony and a hypocrite.
