I'd say this proves the far right Christian anti woke crowd, can be as ridiculous, and mean spirited, as the far left woke crowd. I agree. Young girls have been wearing rainbows on their shirts and eating cakes with rainbow frosting for a hundred years -- or long before the LGBTQ crowd ever dreamed up those letters. The school is way off base.

What do we think about this one ? Here we have a Christian school expelling a girl for having an image on facebook of her birthday party with a rainbow colored cake. The assumption is that she is promoting homosexual behaviour with this I guess... because somehow our culture has accepted the lie that the rainbow represents everything "gay." It doesn't As one comment at the bottom of the story states; "Just because some group of abominations use the image for sinfulness does not make the image a sin. I highly doubt this "Christian" school is worth it's weight in intelligence. Look at the situation do not use the Bible Blindly. You are lumping everyone into the same category and you cannot do that. The school is wrong and need to apologize to this girl and her family." I have to agree. That this school claims to be " Christian" is highly questionable I'd say... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The most famous rainbow in history is when God made His covenant with Noah after the flood mentioned in the book of Genesis.
But now, a private Christian school in Kentucky is coming under fire for allegedly expelling a student because she had a rainbow-colored cake and sweater to celebrate her birthday.
"She did nothing wrong," Kimberly Alford said of her 15-year-old daughter, Kayla Kenney, in an interview with the Louisville Courier Journal.
The saga began in late December when the family was celebrating Kayla's 15th birthday at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. It was when Alford posted a photo of her daughter on her Facebook page that all hell broke loose.
The girl happened to be wearing a sweater with a rainbow on it, and the cake had a variety of rainbow-like colors.
Alford told the paper she received an email from Whitefield Academy's head of school, Bruce Jacobson, explaining her daughter was being expelled "immediately due to a post on social media."
................She said Jacobson wrote that the picture "demonstrates a posture of morality and cultural acceptance contrary to that of Whitefield Academy’s beliefs” and follows two years of "lifestyle violations."
In recent years, the rainbow flag has often been used as a symbol of same-sex and transgender rights.
Alford noted her daughter is not homosexual, and the colorful cake was merely for fun, indicating the bakery receipt listed the design as "assorted colors.".... www.wnd.com/2020/01/breaks-loose-christian-school-girls-colorful-birthday-cake/Time out... that note from the school ALSO said, “... and follows two years of lifestyle violations” while I disagree with them using a fairly innocuous photo of a birthday celebration as grounds for the expulsion, and I completely agree with the tone of your post vis-à-vis, the coopting of normal words and icons to only refer to homosexuality, I would like to know what those 2-years of lifestyle violations were before castigating the school any further... but, of course, that’s none of my business. Agreed What would these " 2 years of lifestyle violations" be exactly ?? Would be interesting to know - if there are any such ' violations' even in existence. It is noted in the story that the girl isn't 'homosexual' so... we have to wonder, why tie her expulsion to this rainbow cake post on social media and then also include something mystical about 'lifestyle violations' ....? ? What is that ? ? ? ?

That's where the real battle is. Moderate America needs to stand up against the BS being pushed by the idealogues on both sides. It's a tough battle as the opponent of moderation and compromise includes the media.Think about it... Both sides of the national media spent a ridiculous amount of time over a f'n cake. Ignorance & hate only create more ignorance & hate Liberals do it conservatives do it gays do it straights do it Christians do it atheists do it...everybodies doing it .....and so we have America hating itself .... stupid America ; ) Hopefully we all get tired of it and leave each other alone Good first step towards that end is for everyone to ignore the rabble rousers - AKA the "media" .. and most of the morons in "government" too

What is that ? ? ? ? My daughter went to a Christian school and I will tell you, the rules of conduct there were quite rigid, some might say draconian. For example, girls had to wear very modest attire and would get sent home if a teacher or administrator took exception. Boys and girls were not allowed to show affection (including holding hands) on school property or at school events. i can easily see someone getting suspended for such “lifestyle violations,” particularly if she had been warned or counseled for two years.

I'm aware, my boys go to a Christian school. They wear a school uniform, are forbidden PDA's all that - minimizes distractions. I have never heard or seen the term "lifestyle violations" in their terms or by their administrators, so that's new to me & I question if it's even valid at this particular school. That's a nebulous term that has to be defined for the attendees & their parents I'd think.

We can probably guess it is for parents and students, but school is also not likely to post that kind of specificity in a newspaper article.

The school in question is Whitefield Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, a K-12 hard-core religious institution in the Bible Belt. I doubt they put up with very much of anything. You can read their mission statement and philosophy here: whitefield.org/discover/mission-philosophy/

They found plastic straws in her lunch box. Oddly enough, it COULD be something that ridiculous. The core reason for this students expulsion, was the assumptions made concerning the rainbow shirt and cake the girl was pictured in on social media. I believe that this is the most likely scenario. That this lifestyle violations term was used - created by the writers of the story or the school administrators for the story - is an indication of the imperfection you can see in Christian school settings. . . I've seen quite a bit of it myself. Still, the education kids get at these schools is 100% preferable to the mindless garbage " taught" in " public schools" today. You can read their mission statement and philosophy here: whitefield.org/discover/mission-philosophy/Nothing at any of the links at their site about disciplinary actions or philosophies. Though I suspect they're much the same standard as most Classical Christian schools.

They found plastic straws in her lunch box. I wonder if the lifestyle violations refer to something the parents did/do. Maybe mommy came out of the closet, divorced dad, and now the child has two mommies?

Maybe mommy came out of the closet, divorced dad, and now the child has two mommies? It could be anything. Maybe the wrong people heard a parent mumbling some profanities under their breath. Maybe some other parents had a disagreement with the parents and had a " discussion" with school administrators, maybe the family attends a congregation/church that isn't in line with whatever is at THIS school etc etc etc. Things like that happen, little squabbles can get nasty and cause real trouble. Problems wherever people are LOL

Or 10; " Orthodoxy and orthopraxy cannot be divided; therefore student speech and action must bring honor to Jesus Christ so that the students will be able to give reason for the hope which they have in Christ Jesus." It seems likely that the school immediately thought; " Gay & LGBT lifestyles" when they saw that rainbow stuff and went on to do what they did. We're all just guessing of course, but I have a feeling that that's most likely. We all have to remember that the rainbow has zero to do with homosexuality. Never did, never will. BUT it's an illustration of how masses of people can be manipulated so easily.
