And then there's this gem that might very well be the epitome of the liberal mindset.

My family came to this country in 1955, and I can confirm that we've never owned any slaves. If I'm forced to pay into a reparations fund merely because I'm white, it will be the single most racist act ever passed by our federal government in my lifetime. My great grandparents, like millions of others, arrived at Ellis Island after the Civil War. All of their descendants fall into the same class as your family. Additionally, what about those people (both black & white) who gave their lives to fight in the Civil War? Are they entitled to some type of reparation? I have never understood why reparations needs to be a government pushed issue as opposed to a private legal manner. If your ancestors were slaves of the Johnson Family from Atlanta, Georgia, and the current Johnson family members continue to profit from or have holdings that were acquired because of slavery, then you should sue them. Take 'em to court, thats the American way.

I have mixed feelings about Julian Assange, but the Glen Greenwald, one of the few principles liberal journalists out there, nails it on why Democrats are cheering his arrest. Schumer merely repeats the tired Russian collusion hoax. The only reason he's upset is that Assange published TRUE INFORMATION that happened to be embarrassing to his preferred candidate. If Assange had illegally published Donald Trump's tax returns, Schumer would be calling him a hero.
Assange is NOT being charged with anything connected to the alleged "hacking" of the the DNC servers (which has never even been established, since the DNC never allowed the FBI to examine them). This whole episode smells like the criminalizing of journalism. Pentagon Papers, anyone?

Irony of ironies. Today's Left, the offspring of the Revolutionaries of 1968, has become The Man.

Have you ever met a victim who is happy?
I wonder when people will wake up to the fact that the liberal mindset is grounded entirely on victimhood, and supporting it is pretty much a guaranteed path to being unhappy.

The reparations to the Japanese-Americans, as well as the roughly $3,200 Germany paid to each person who was imprisoned during the Holocaust, were paid to the actual victims. We're now talking about reparations to descendants five or six generations removed from victimhood. Like so many leftist proposals, reparations are a blatant proposal to assuage the white guilt they feel we all should have and make us all feel better about ourselves.

In addition to the problem of paying reparations to descendants generations removed from the victims, a case could be made that those individuals in the United States right now have a better life & more opportunity than they would had their ancestors been allowed to stay in Africa.

Not only that, but for 170 of the roughly 250 years there was slavery in America, we were English colonies. Will Great Britain be forced to pay reparations to descendants of American slaves? And the slave trade was started when black Africans captured and sold their brethren into slavery. Will those African nations be forced to pay reparations as well? Or are we the only lucky ones?

Just like when liberal politicians rattle their sabres against guns, moves like this will only spur greater sales and customer loyalty to Chick-fil-A.

Next thing you know, they'll be changing the name of a school district from "Dixie" because it's grounded in slavery and therefore offensive.

It's silliness and hypocrisy to the extreme. Many people remember the movement to stop playing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" around Christmas because it "promoted date rape", when in fact it was written by a man to his wife to honor the innocent flirting they did between themselves. They also remember the uproar to paint over a mural at an L.A. middle school because the art deco sunburst background reminded neighborhood Koreans of the Japanese rising sun, and it was therefore deemed and in need of removal.
Not so many people remember the announcement several months ago by San Diego University that they would no longer use the terms Latino, Latina, Chicano or Chicana in any of their literature or language because they were gender-specific and therefore sexist and offensive. Instead they would use LatinX and ChicanX as gender-neutral terms. So how long will it be before we determine that "men" and "women" are gender specific and therefore sexist and offensive, and we will all just be called X-Men?
And then there was the movement by Stanford University students and faculty a couple months ago to eliminate all images and references to Fr. Junipero Serra because of his mistreatment of American Indians. Yet those same students and faculty still proudly attend a school named after Leland Stanford, who was not only one of the great robber barons in American history, but also one of the most openly and virulently anti-Asian racists of all time. He brought thousands of Chinese coolies to America to build his railroads, and then unceremoniously threw them to the curb when he was done with them. And yet there's no outcry by Stanford students or faculty about his deeds or his character.
This society is going down the rabbit hole of insanity, and it's even money if it will ever come back out again.

I think it's nothing more than bully politics. And as my 5th grade teacher, Sister Mary Basil, said, the best way to stop a bully is to smack 'em right in the nose. That was one badass nun! Back then, we didn't run to the teacher when someone was being "mean".
Trump just might be that guy that's standing up to the bully, and punching THEM right in the nose. I know this - they sure as hell don't like it. Maybe more of us need to fight back too...just like that Latina mom did in the article Credo posted.
