Many Christians who are pro-active in spreading the word, don't look down on non-Christians. They have something they are excited about & want to share, but don't dismiss those with less or no enthusiasm as being in a cult or being deplorable.
Many liberals don't extend that same grace. If you don't agree with them lock step, you are a deplorable, a Nazi, homophobic, a bigot and stupid. It is their way or the highway, no room for other thought.
I don't get offended when someone attempts to pass their faith on to me, I understand the intention is wonderful. Kind of like when someone says "God Bless you" when you sneeze or they say they will pray for you; what a really nice thing they are doing (from their perspective). I also have no interest in trying to persuade them they are wrong in their faith, what does it gain me if I shatter someones belief system?
I am as comfortable in my belief system as they are in theirs, so I can decline invitations without being rude.
