Seems to me, we’ve all heard, if not used, various anecdotes and stories that illustrate a good point or a moral. Maybe we can share some of those here:
THE STARFISH STORY
An elderly man was taking a stroll along the beach one morning and noticed the tide had washed hundreds of starfish up into the sand.
As he walked along, he noticed down the beach, there seemed to be someone running down to the waters edge, pausing, and then running back up onto the sand. The man watched this repeat several times until he finally reached the person and noticed it was a boy. The boy would grab a starfish, race down to the water’s edge, throw the starfish in, and race back to grab another starfish and repeat the process.
Over and over the old man watched the boy throw starfish after starfish into the sea until he finally observed to the boy, “son, there are hundreds of starfish washed up on the beach, surely you don’t think you can make a difference to all of them.”
“No I don’t,” replied the boy, pausing just long enough to toss another starfish into the waves, “but I can make a difference for THAT one.”
When you see a need, fill what you can. You don’t have to fill ALL the needs, just start with one and see where it leads.

Dave I saw an interview last night with a man named David Berlinski. I found it very interesting. Have you ever heard of him?
He seemed to waiver on the topic of god and atheism. He seemed to want to have it both ways.
Any thoughts on him?

I just listened to this clip (that is probably not the same clip you heard) and maybe it is because Berlinski is with others, but I don’t get that flavor from him.
The one man in this clip I know well and have studied in some depth, Stephen Meyer, is definitely a Theist, and a Christian Tneist, as well, but none of them really draw in God, specifically.
Possibly Berlinski might sound more atheistic because his focus is in Human Nature, generally.
