Is it OK to be white?
Yes, as long as you're willing to shoulder all the guilt and remorse from a thousand years of terrible things you didn't do.

The entire concept of "white" is asinine and I do not accept it. White, black, purple, paisley,... these are things an artist or clothing designer needs to think about. Humans getting angry at each other over the shade of one anothers skin is childish. Is the human race ready to grow up yet ? Will it ever be ?

And more from our institutions of higher learning.... lets all remove courses in art history that are perceived to be Euro-Caucasian dominant....., shame on the MASTERS! No pun intended! yaledailynews.com/blog/2020/01/24/art-history-department-to-scrap-survey-course/Art History Department to scrap survey courseMARGARET HEDEMAN & MATT KRISTOFFERSEN 12:31 AM, JAN 24, 2020 STAFF REPORTERS Decades old and once taught by famous Yale professors like Vincent Scully, “Introduction to Art History: Renaissance to the Present” was once touted to be one of Yale College’s quintessential classes. But this change is the latest response to student uneasiness over an idealized Western “canon” — a product of an overwhelmingly white, straight, European and male cadre of artists.
This spring, the final rendition of the course will seek to question the idea of Western art itself — a marked difference from the course’s focus at its inception. Art history department chair and the course’s instructor Tim Barringer told the News that he plans to demonstrate that a class about the history of art does not just mean Western art. Rather, when there are so many other regions, genres and traditions — all “equally deserving of study” — putting European art on a pedestal is “problematic,” he said. ~ The decision to get rid of this survey art history course resembles the English Department’s move to “decolonize” its degree requirements in 2017. At the time, the department made a sequence titled “Major English Poets” optional for majors.

We have to tear our culture down and apart, destroy ourselves. Elevate "the other" - some imagined " other" - above us. It's worse than childish ! ... What child decides to punish himself for mistakes he made as an ignorant child ? over "... student uneasiness over an idealized Western “canon” - this is so painfully stupid, it's scary. I have to wonder. . . if we do this, carry it ALL the way out, how long will it take " the other," - those we have elevated above us - to decide that they TOO must destroy and erase themselves ? Are ALL people so self-destructive ? Why ?

Grouping people of European descent as "white" and then making stereotyped comments about them is as dumb as grouping people together as "Asians". Russia & India are part of Asia, but you are only Asian if your eyes slant? The French & British fought for centuries, but you group all of their people together as "White"? And please, why insult all people of fair skin by grouping them with those loser Austrians.
I have no problem describing an individual as white to delineate his skin color or as Asian to relay that he has narrow eyes, but don't make those categories a race, it is idiotic.

Nikola Tesla Sigmund Freud Ludwig van Beethoven Wolfgang Mozart Niki Lauda Rudolf Nureyev Gregor Mendel Joseph Haydn Simon Wiesenthal Franz Schubert Erwin Schrodinger Gustav Klimt Johann Strauss (father and son) Steffi Graf Johannes Brahms Johann von Goethe Joseph Pulitzer Franz Liszt Hermann Meier Franz Klammer Billy Wilder Gustav Mahler All Austrians. All losers? Being a Servite alum, I realize you probably have never heard of most of those names, but it would probably be worth your while to google them.

Yet all of those names are trumped by the inclusion of the most famous Austrian, Adolph Hitler. Even the king of the Nazi's was embarrassed to be of Austrian descent and realized if he was going to conquer the world, he would have to go elsewhere to build his army.

Hitler denounced his Austrian citizenship in 1913 stating allegiance to Germany. Germany thus made him a citizen. Austrians wanted nothing to do with him. Years later he would conquer and coherse his former homeland, for better term..., strong arm through force. What MDDad failed to make clear on his list of Austrian accomplishments was the country's contribution to LEDERHOSEN!

Dad said of all the places he was in (France, Sicily, Italy, Austria, and Germany), Austria was, by far, the most beautiful...I think he liked Lederhosen too.

What very few people know is that Hitler was a pretty normal kid and didn't jump on the psycho train until his parents threatened to send him to Servite. He was last seen running down the streets of Linz screaming "Formation ist eine Scheissheit!" and was never seen in the country again.

It's true that Hitler was born in present-day Austria, but during his teen years he eventually shifted his loyalties to Germany. Worst transfer ever.

Just for fun I looked up Tim Barringer, referred to in the story above as the Yale University Art History Department Chair. Here he is: Seeing as Mr. Barringer epitomizes all the evils of white, male, European privilege, he should set an example and resign his position in favor of a transgender woman of color. Until he does so his very presence at Yale constitutes an existential threat to all oppressed peoples everywhere. And 60% of the art history faculty is white, as is 100% of the department staff, so maybe they should tender their resignations as well. arthistory.yale.edu/people/facultyJust to be safe, though, I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.
