I see a lot of these and maybe we should be looking further into them... the first one to come to mind is Morgan Vague, an unfortunate name with a serious advancement: She developed a bacteria that eats last ic. from a Transcript of her TED-talk
Bacteria that eats plastic...
what innovations, advancements, or inventions have you seen?

I've seen Red eat a whole Pizza in 8 minutes. I didn't invent him, but I'm sure he could give that bacteria a run for its money.
Seriously, kudos to Ms. Vague, for coming up with a solution to a problem that doesn't involve draconian measures from a heavy handed federal government.
Most of the new innovations I see prior to most of the public are in the A/V world, which means they are obsolete just about the time everyone figures out how to use them. I recall a few years back when the first Blu-ray players were introduced that had the Pandora app built into them. We thought we had arrived, you could now play streaming music through a whole house audio system. Fast Forward 15 years and that innovation looks like a buggy whip.

Another innovation I read about some time ago, they were just starting to look for investors, but I’ve always thought was a great idea is Solar Roadways.
They have gotten several grants from the DOT, and the Missouri DOT is looking to test the concept along I-70.
HOWEVER, the idea has been around since 2006 when the first prototypes were developed, and the concept hasn’t really taken off. Part of the issue is they are so freaking expensive (like upwards of $40,000 to redo your average driveway, and to redo all the major highways in the U.S., around $56 Trillion...
but I will like the idea more if I see it can actually work as promised.
