Sorry, but no uniting is going to happen. Its a political death match and the GOP better start fighting back.

So Donald Trump acts like a pouting five-year-old and refuses to shake Nancy Pelosi's hand. Then Nancy tears up the speech like a petulant five-year-old throwing a temper tantrum, but after she makes sure everyone can see her doing it. And these are the two leaders of our two major political parties. God help the republic. Someone also complained that Nancy sat there the whole time with a sour look on her face. That's no surprise. Whatever look she had on her face when the makeup people caked on all that spackle is what she's going to have until they jack-hammer it off. I've seen corpses in coffins that looked more natural than her. I think we do have a case to be said here for "Two Wrongs Do Not Make a Right". However, regardless of things past between the two on this night Trump did not shake either hand. It may have been deliberate, knowing he would not shake Pelosi's hand, too equate the debate and outrage he passed on Pence as well. I do feel we are more so divided than ever. What makes me most angry is I do not feel that out in the real world. I feel it much more when I watch our elected officials. It isn't hard to calculate that divisionism is their tool. I won't get into the Obama thoughts I have but I see him as one of the Presidents whom used "Divide and Conquer" in his political tactics. It's from the school of Saul Alinsky. "Tit for Tat", it's just that, between these two, however, lay the blame at both, but what Nancy did was drag American Hero's and families into the spat, so "Tit for Tat", Nancy and her party are the bigger losers.

I’m guessing this has become or is becoming a tradition between Trump and Pelosi. Remember, last year, which was Pelosi’s first Trump SOTU as speaker, she was supposed to introduce him, but he shook both hands, turned around, and launched into his speech before she had the chance. This year, she didn’t give him a chance, she introduced him literally as he stepped onto the dais (before he gave copies of his speech to Pence and Pelosi), so maybe not shaking hands was a snub-back at her. AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWKWARD had he shaken Pences hand but not Emperor Palpatines.

Maybe trump forgot? Decorum doesn't seem to be his strong suit. He probably didn't remember who Pence is. That's an easy mistake to make.

An interesting, and surprisingly balanced panel from the Los Angeles Times featuring people from all sides commenting on SOTU:

Not Peace but Division.
49 “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
Luke. 12.

Nancy said the entire speech was nothing but "untruths." She should cite which one of those stories was an "untruth."
