Thoughts? One thing we can be sure of--the Leftist media will be foaming at the mouth for the rest of the day. I don’t have strong feelings about Kerik, but I remember DeBartolo was always the Players owner: I don’t condone what’s he did, bu5 loved that he was always so enamored of (and by) his players. I’ve never liked the 49ers, but you have to appreciate what he did for them. Blago and Milken should rot in prison, although Trump has been telegraphing the clemency for Blagojevich for a couple months, so I’m not surprised.

What about pardoning Milliken and Blagojevich could anyone defend? This isn't a left v right issue - it's right and wrong. I could swear he has no concept of how to keep from stepping in dog crap. Geez...

Not much "starting" about it. The hope was always that the positives outweigh the negative. This is a big negative.

I think this is a SYMPTOM of a big negative, which is that he's stupid with no common sense.

Sure...they're the problem. ROFL.
Trump is a good salesman, but he's even better at making enemies. There is no upside to trump for this.

My only guess is Milliken and Blagojevich have information about the Clintons and Obama that the DOJ wants. I just don't see any upside for our President.

Geez... None of these bother me much. Technically, Trump didn't pardon Blagojevich. He just commuted his sentence. Evidently felt 14 years was excessive...that 8 years was enough.

That would be an inaccurate guess, is my guess. Blago had the democrats turn their backs on him and, basically, left him in the woods for the wolves. His wife has visited Trump several times in the last couple of years and it is not beyond the realm of possibility she would carry a deal from hubby to President, something on the order of “...pardon me and I know where the bodies are buried...” sort of thing. It is dead certain Blagojevich is, now, in Trump's debt, AND, I saw a reference that showed Trump has been considering this for a couple years. ALSO, it comes to mind that, at some point, Trump MIGHT want to complain about sentences given out to some of his own operatives, so how’s he going to complain about, for example, Roger Stones 3 years being excessive if he lets Blago serve 14 years for PLANNING to abuse his power, and not actually doing so? as for Milken, I don’t even need Bick’s college calculus for that one: Milken is/was a FoT (Friend of Trump) back when he was raking in the millions, and his friends and supporters who have been urging Trump to commute have been Trump donors. Even I can do that math. but, yes, these two in particular are mistakes, but although I have not done the research, my guess-timate is, literally every president (and governor) who has pardoned or commuted convicted criminals have these self-serving episodes in their portfolios. I think they need that power, but firmly believe, also, there is a high probability it gets abused from time to time.

I didn't realize Blagojevich was a democrat. Third democrat, but fourth Illinois Governor to serve time in prison. we’re so proud of our “leaders.” - Otto Kerner (D)
- Dan Walker (D)
- George Ryan (R)
- Rod Blagojevich (D)

Before he exits the White House next month, President Clinton might shower pardons on a host of people, including several Whitewater figures and, most notably, Michael R. Milken, the convicted former Wall Street financier, administration officials and others involved in the effort said today. Mr. Milken's pardon application has been raised directly with the president by a major Democratic contributor and Clinton financial benefactor and has received the most attention in the White House, officials said.

Oh, I’m sure Milken had chums painting both sides of the fence... but he was (also) Trumps millionaire friend. as for Blago, I’m not sure which of them is exacting their revenge: Blago against them dems or Trump against Obama AND the dems. Could be both.
