Locals singled out:
*Anaheim (Calif.) Servite ’22 quarterback Noah Fifita is a baller. He may only be 5-10 but he can play and there is something special about him. He’s a winner and carries himself in a way that gives confidence to everyone he plays with. He was slinging it all weekend and definitely has the clutch gene you love to see in a quarterback. He flashed a quick release, was accurate to all three levels of the field and should be a lot of fun to watch for the Friars this fall.
*Anaheim (Calif.) Servite ’22 wide out Tetairoa McMillan was very impressive all weekend and has a big upside. He looks all of 6-3 with an athletic body and is a natural pass catcher. He has high level body control and as he continues to get stronger and fill out even more, he has a chance to be very special. Two-sport athlete who also plays on the basketball team, there is a lot to like about this kid.
*Anaheim (Calif.) Servite '21 athlete Noah Avinger is a player who can play on both sides of the ball but impressed us in the secondary. He's a smooth, athletic corner with very good cover skills. He has great feet, plays with advanced technique and was one of the few corners we saw able to consistently cover without having to clutch and grab. He has an athletic build, is very fluid in his movement and just looks the part of a next level prospect.
*Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco wide out Logan Loya was easily among the toughest covers in the event. His ability to create separation is incredible advanced and no one runs cleaner routes. He has deceptive speed and can beat a corner over the top and his hands are as good as you’ll see as well. He was his teams main weapon and faced a ton of bracket coverage and was still able to get open with ease. Arizona State, Oregon State, Oregon, Nebraska and Washington State are just a few schools making a big push for Loya right now.
*We have been hearing a ton of buzz lately about quarterback Kadin Semonza, who’s still in the 8th grade but will play at Mission Viejo (Calif.) next fall. After seeing him over the weekend, it’s easy to see why. Semonza led his Real Speed Zoom squad, comprised mainly of freshmen/sophomores, to the quarterfinals. He has a live, accurate arm, very polished and one of the more advanced young quarterbacks we have seen coming in to the HS ranks.
*Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei ’22 athlete Quincy Craig is a dynamic play maker in space. He can play running back or slot receiver and is very explosive with the ball in his hands. He was a weapon for Real Speed Zoom all weekend and was one of the tougher covers we saw.
*Norco (Calif.) quarterback Shane Illingworth told us Arkansas is recruiting him hardest he plans to visit for the Spring Game. The Razorbacks have been a constant in his recruitment and are a major player in his recruitment. Washington State is another school making a big push and the quarterback said he plans to take multiple visits to Pullman this Spring. Oregon State is also involved and will get a visit and Oregon and Washington could get visits as well.
*Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei sophomore athlete Kyron Ware-Hudson is a very intriguing kid and projects as a next level player on both sides of the ball. He’s a solid 6-1, 205 pounds but has the frame to grow in to a 6-2, 225 pound athlete by the time he’s a senior. He has excellent ball skills at receiver and uses his strength to bully opposing corners. He also has the ability to project at safety or outside linebacker and has tremendous upside. Oregon, where his older brother Keyon Ware-Hudson signed in December, has offered.
