When ideology meets reality. Maybe there really are consequences to this whole "welcoming", open border thing being espoused by the left.

Being an island with severely limited space only exacerbates the issue, particularly in Europe where refugees are joined by terrorists and opportunists and it is difficult to distinguish the differences between the groups.
Stipulating open borders and welcoming states affords those en route the perception they have a right because they desire. Absent any entry requirements, there is no oversight, as we are seeing here (even though we don’t exactly have open borders, “porous” borders are almost as bad): Adjoining countries like Mexico have no impetus to stem the flow and, at times, have even availed themselves of the opportunity to rid themselves of less-than-desirable citizens. Good examples include gang-bangers: Mexico doesn’t want them, and THEY want to be here so Mexico does nothing to impede their progress north.

I think an island named Lesbos should enforce the idea "females" only.....

Dave - the takeaway should be how the Greek Socialist gov't is handling this as it relates to its own citizens...tear gas and rubber bullets.

(even though we don’t exactly have open borders, “porous” borders are almost as bad) They're not really porous, though, right? I mean we do have that new 3 1/2 mile section of border wall.

However, I try to present a contrarian point of view that is not far right, because without contrarian opinions these forums aren't worth the time of day. OCConnect is the perfect example of that.

It is one thing to present a contrarian point of view. It is another thing to snarkily misrepresent information and claim it be factual By doing the latter, you lower yourself to TOB posting standards.

MDDad isn't exactly a liberal, rather something resembling a "Never Trumper". Although not, nor like, you can still be "conservative" yet not support nor like President Trump. Is Bill Kristol still a conservative?

That they are such stark examples of the fact resources are always limited, should make them the poster child against the platforms that fail to recognize it, and what these so called benevolent governments will do to its own citizens to enforce their "benevolence".

I agree, but, as you saya AND as we see right here at home, “benevolent” politicians ARE willing to overlook the needs of their citizens to appear benevolent when, in fact, they are pandering opportunists.

How nice of turkey to give refugees rides to the border of another country.
