Yesterday the wife and kids wanted some Chick-fil-A for dinner so I drive over to the Long Beach Towne Center. I arrive at the drive-thru and there are employees out in the parking lot--in masks--taking the orders as people move along in the line of cars. So far so good.
One of them approaches to take my order and I roll down the window. He says, "Do you have a mask?" I say "no." Mind you, I'm in my car with the window rolled down and he's six feet away from me. He says I need to cover my face with a mask or by pulling my shirt over my mouth or he can't take my order.
I told him in no uncertain terms this was ridiculous and I pulled my car out of line and straight to the front door and ask someone if they can call the manager. He comes out and tells me "they're just following the regulations." (That people wear face-masks in the drive-thru!)
I let him know they will no longer have my business as long as this policy is in effect.

And anyone uttering the words "distance is love" ought to be slapped with a wet noodle, or be forced to quarantine with Vilepagan (but I'm being redundant)

"We're all in this together" is the one that drives me nuts. It's now uttered more often than the ubiquitous "awesome". And the fact of the matter is that we're NOT all in this together. When we can't congregate and we're all forced to stay in our homes, then we're all in this separately.

I yell at the ads with the "We are all in this together theme" and promise myself not to patronize them for being so patronizing to us.
I flip off the traffic update signs that lecture me about how I should behave with Covid 19.
I shake my head at people driving their cars while wearing masks, and then laugh when I can see that they are Asian (because of the stereotype).
Meanwhile, not a single government employee has been laid off and all are receiving full paychecks. Apparently working for the government makes you immune to catching or passing on Covid19.

I think I am more irritated with the ridiculous hashtags... #stayathome, #alonetogether, blah blah blah

One of the most comical aspects of this whole thing is the switch between federal power to state power back to federal.
Newsom whining on stage yesterday about a federal bailout is completely contrary to what him and his constituents were shouting a few weeks ago.

Jesus, does AOC have to teach you EVERYTHING? AOC is close to a cure I hear for Covid19..., she actually calls it "Patroning" the patients via IV....

With the increasing number of sheriffs and police refusing to enforce the quarantine decrees, it’s an Alice in Wonderland situation where it’s now law enforcement that’s more focused on civil rights than the politicians and ACLU activist types.
Soon we’ll see Nancy Pelosi fretting over deficit spending..............Luca

It's unfortunate, but Gavin Newsom always has "the numbers" safety net to fall back on. Every day (yes, that is grammatically correct) he makes a new pronouncement, effective as law, without any legislative process. He tightens or loosens restrictions on a whim, not on any hard evidence. Notice how quickly he reneged on closing Orange County beaches when there was even the slightest hint of protest or refusal to comply? Within 48 hours he walked back his Orange County position because "the numbers" now said it was justified.
He is the ultimate opportunist and an insult to public servants - a handsome guy with a flashy smile, expensive suits and gelled hair without an ounce of integrity, conviction or political beliefs

Police doubters/haters should use this as an opportunity to see that police are regular people too.
