The only reason people would claim Twitter is worse is becuz they can no longer control their narrative in a freer less regulated, obstructed space. So of course the opin-ers @ LA Times are not happy.

The downside to changing Twitter to X. First off, the domain is called "Twitter.com". Second, if you don't use the trademark, you lose it. Third, it is easier to spin a company off the more separated it is. Many companies will buy other companies and just keep the name for that reason.
What are the upsides?

Ah, good point. I think he owns the domain x.com, so I know he wants to make something like weCHAT in the US. The big money he wants to make is with finance, or credit card processing. Like they do in China. But Twitter just seemed so unique. A separate type of business.
