What is the point of all these silly company name changes? Twitter becomes X, Facebook becomes Meta, Philip Morris becomes Altria, Google becomes Alphabet, IHOP becomes IHOb, Smith & Wesson becomes American Outdoor Brands, Aunt Jemima becomes Pearl Milling. If I changed my name to Middle Finger because it more accurately reflects my opinion of today's political environment, what difference would it make?

In our contemporary fragmented digital culture, there really isn't much choice. So we have to continually use abstract acronyms, mundane expressions, cuz words and language have long lost their meaning.....and nobody seemed to notice.

I think the reason they change their names is because they want Google and Facebook as a trademarked name - a brand name - under another company. Overtime they may be involved in more profitable things so they can sell their brands, while holding their other properties intact.
Now with Musk and X, he is doing the opposite. It doesn't make sense to me. It is like he is on drugs and has lost his edge.

I think he should have kept the Twitter trademark and called it an X company. Build the empire and keep the trademarks. He can integrate his payment system into all of his properties.

Elon is an immigrant. He came from another country. His perspective is shared by others in other countries. The Russians and Chinese look at us with amazement. How stupid can we be? Who elected Biden. Why don't we just surrender to foreign powers? Why destroy the best country in the world?
