I lack the words to tell you how stupid that sounds as well...you're not paying attention.. I don't know what Biden's campaign promises are and I don't care. Neither does he.
I'm voting for him because he's not trump. I'll give you credit for being honest--and it's as good a reason as any coming from the perspective of the Left. "He's not the other guy" makes total sense. Sounds a lot like the rationale many on the Right gave for their support of Bob Dole in 1996, John McCain in 2008, and Mitt Romney in 2012--and will likely be as successful.This reminds me of a friend who cited the only reason she was voting for Obama is because “he has a nice voice.” |

Yeah, come on, RSM. Saying you can grab an adult woman by the pussy is grossly offensive, even though Trump never said he did it. But Biden sharing memories about letting little boys and girls stroke down his leg hair isn't the slightest bit disturbing. Maybe if Trump had used the word "cooter" it would have been more acceptable.

There is an emptiness in Bidens eyes that wasn't there years before, something you see as people reach whatever age it is for them that they really start to slow down. When he was being a prick to Paul Ryan back in their 2012 debate, you could see his eyes & mind dart quickly as he continually looked for ways to frustrate his counterpart. That is gone, there is now just a slow, delayed response to various stimuli as he is either talking or listening.
I feel sorry for the guy, the way some parts of his life has gone, it is amazing that he hasn't started the decline earlier. To have your wife & first daughter die in a tragic car accident, then years later watch one of your sons die in his 40's, then watch your other son begin an affair with his dead sons wife only to have it cumulate with his lone son going around the world cashing in on his fathers position by getting "hired" by foreign firms before knocking up some strippers, that would be hell. His first wife and 2 of his 3 kids with her died before his eyes and his remaining son is a dunderhead, that would be enough to cause anyone to check out mentally.

RSM, I agree, although I don't think it's his family tragedies that have led to his mental decline. I believe it's just a natural side effect of aging that will happen to many of us.
When it comes to this election, the only thing stronger than my sympathy for Biden is my outrage and anger at the leaders of the Democratic party who are willing to subject this poor soul to the indignity of what is about to befall him. He doesn't deserve it. I can't believe there hasn't been one Democratic leader in the last year or so who has the humanity and the conscience to have put his arm around Biden's shoulder and said, "Joe, it might not be best for the party, but it would be best for you and your family if you stepped aside and allowed someone else to fight this fight." If Biden should win, it will be difficult to watch him stumble over his words and thoughts when in public, and to ignore the strings attached to him and pulled by the party puppeteers.

It actually is pretty sad. I suspect that Biden is a decent and well-intentioned guy. I suspect that if I knew the man I would probably like him. But he's had a long career and been under pressure for a long time. He's experienced the death of one son, the discrediting of another, and a few failed presidential runs which were a major disappointment
I suspect he was pressured by others in the Democratic Party to run so that some reasonably middle-of-the-road candidate could be elected. That's all it would really take to defeat Donald Trump in November. But he's clearly suffering significant cognitive decline, if not early dementia. There is not a chance that he's going to be up to the strains of the office, and to force this guy to go through all this when he should be enjoying retirement is heartless. I find it really sad to see him flailing like this.........................Luca
