I'll start this thread as a clearinghouse for instances of resistance and pushback against the Woke Mob. Fittingly, Catholics in St. Louis are leading the charge.

I think people are awakening to flaws in the concept of defunding police forces: Who’s going to keep us from going to the beach?..................Luca

Please tell me we’re not judging a man who lives in the 13th century now...

Of course we are. The new model is to judge everyone who ever lived by today's standards of ethics, morality, values and behavior. The standards that existed when those people lived are irrelevant, and that is a terrible and dishonest historical mistake to make.

Has there been any threats to the statue of St. Louis or are the Catholics just worried?

Tell us a good reason why we must honor the Confederates who fought against the US in the Civil War. If this country is not the same as when these statues were erected, why can they not be removed now?

You could also argue you don't really need ANY symbols of history if we're no longer the country ee were before. Why do we need the Lincoln monument? Wouldn't we be better off having low income housing there instead? How about Arc de Triomphe in France? Wasn't Napoleon a liberal progressive that reinstated slavery, ran a secret police, and was an example for Hitler to follow? I read a little from this blog to gain some insight as to why monuments are important. The answer that sticks best with me is "They remind use of the past, for better or worse and are testament to how society attempts to remember the past. That is not to say they should all stand permanently without introspection and revision." I'm not suggesting all monuments should remain indefinitely, but I think it's absolutely imperative there is a process for the review of the removal of such monuments that is centered on the will of the majority. Would you agree with this, or do you think it's OK for small groups to vandalize or destroy monuments simply because they claim to be offended by them? monumentsinhistory.wordpress.com/2017/09/01/first-week-why-monuments-matter/

Go to Rome and look at the friezes upon The Arch of Titus. You think the modern people of Rome would be proud of Titus' extermination of the Jews in Judea? Do they look at the statues of Julius Caesar and celebrate his destruction of the Gaelic peoples? Or the civil war(s) he fought? How far do we go?

I doubt any of the white folks in those pictures ever owned slaves, so what are they apologizing for? I imagine it's just to make themselves feel better, which is a tactic that seems to form the basis for a lot of leftist policy. They'd feel even better if they let some large African-American dude flog them with a lead-tipped whip until their backs were shredded. Or maybe one of those guilty-feeling white guys could volunteer to be lynched. Yeah, that would do it.

Has there been any threats to the statue of St. Louis or are the Catholics just worried? I suspect you're missing the point here. I would assume that those Catholics in the picture are worried or else they wouldn't be there. I don't know if there have been any specific threats against that particular statue of St. Louis, but many other statues have been defiled recently without any rational justification. They can be excused if they choose not to rely on the discretion of a mob. You seem to imply that unless there is a particular threat to you that you need not be concerned about it. That would be like an authoritarian regime jailing all the Italians while telling you " Hey, don't worry about it, you're Sicilian.".......................Luca
