Here's more if you refuse to raise your fist in support of BLM

And for the umpteenth time, the "protesters" for black lives are 20-year-old white losers. If I were black, I'd be embarrassed as hell over this stuff.

Those were blacks in the first video. Mobs are multiracial.

An interesting side note here. i am on record as disparaging governors and mayors of big cities who refuse Federal assistance. Sounds foolish to me. But I read THIS STORY FROM THE DAILY WIRE which seems legit. Tell me if I’m all wet here: so the Governor refused Federal help, because the police insist THEY need to do the job: Do I understand that correctly? that sounds entirely justified to me. what are your thoughts?

I think the argument is that the mere presence of the police incites violence... which is just bizarre. That is the argument, and for most of these riots, it seems to be fact, but it becomes a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation: rioters are out of control if the police are not there (and the police get blamed if they are not there), and the rioters use them as an excuse when they are there. but the Governors response in this case sounds like he is trying to support the police who have said THEY should be the ones protecting the peace... unless I misunderstand... which is always possible.

When I saw the full video of the BLM folks demanding that woman raise her clenched fist to show unity with them, I found myself hoping, wishing, that some group tries that at a restaurant I'm eating at. Not only will I will resist them, I won't do it passively & sitting. They will find out what non-violent but loud opposition is, and since they are bullies, they will each backdown when challenged. And if my daughter is with me, I pity the broad who thinks she can start screaming at & chest bumping me in hopes I get physical. I won't, because I won't need to, that little BLM chick will be taken out by one of her own gender.
I do want that encounter...

I wasn’t around in the 60s and 70s, but weren’t the protests back then much more... peaceful?

Yes, most were... but police response was swift and usually harsh (at least from our perspective). in those days, passive non- compliance was the preferred resistance, but obviously groups like the Black Panthers and the Weathermen were frequently the exceptions.

I really do think it’s time for the Executive to incite the Insurrection Act.
We’re in the perfect storm currently: Covid, unemployment, boredom...
