You know, if you go back far enough in history, most likely all of those people had a ancestor who was a slave. I'm not sure if there is a race that wasn't enslaved to another race at some point in time. |

Probably an accurate assessment RSM, My genealogy shows two plights in American history, my fathers side the north, originally landed in Maine, to Illinois, to Nebraska, to California, this side during the civil war fought for the Union. My mothers came from Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas to California, fought for the Confederacy. I'm not sure now how that makes me or faults me as a person today? Meaning what happened 150 years ago for example by those whom pre-date me by distant relations of over a century ago. Looking even further back into my European ancestry I am sure as certain I had a few Medieval relatives who may have did some ruthless things in those days. Anyone think in their family tree someone joined in on a little witch burning, beheadings, town square hangings, imprisonments or torture chambers? Its all likely each and every one of has that relation somewhere in their family history. The fact is mankind can be very unkind.  |
