This article claims there are scientific reasons the 10 plagues God brought on Egypt happened. I have read responses from folks who say this means God did not cause them... that Pharaoh releasing the Israelites (for which there is no evidence) was just coincidental to all these things happening. My perspective is, it is irrelevant HOW they happened. God intended them to do 2 things: Show His might to convince the people He is God, and persuade Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. Regardless of whether they were miraculous, or God used natural occurrences, Missions Accomplished. What are your thoughts? The Biblical Plagues That May Have Really Happened

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Interesting parallel today as I read through Exodus, Chapter 5:
The Set-up Moses didn't want to go to Pharaoh so God sent Aaron with him to demand he release the Israelites. Pharaoh not only refuses, but he starts punishing the Israelites because Moses even asked. Some of the Israelites go to Pharaoh and ask, "Dude, you're killing us. what's the deal?" But Pharaoh throws them out and as they return to work, they come across Moses and Aaron. And, according to Exodus 5:21, "...and they said, “May the LORD look on you and judge you! You have made us obnoxious to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.”
The Parallel As today, these people accuse and blame Moses who is trying to get them released INSTEAD of blaming the cause of their misery, the government.

No, I do not believe God was speaking to us, today, in this passage: Context indicates He was speaking to the Israelites... But you have to admit, thins one big coincidence (AND God still wants unto turn to Him):

I found something interesting in my reading and I would like to get input from some of you with bigger brains than mine:
Psalms 51:11-12, David has been caught with Bathsheba and prays to God, "...do not take your Ruwach Qodesh (Holy Spirit) from me." In Hebrew grammar, the adjective is the same gender as the noun it modifies. But this passage, violates rules of Hebrew grammar by using a masculine adjective (Qodesh) to modify a feminine noun (Ruwach).
I believe this is intentional since God has no gender, but what do you think?

So, he advocates trusting God to move [the church] forward, but cannot trust God to use him as the gender to which he was born? Sigh... Evangelical Lutheran Church of America installs "first openly transgender bishop"
This is not terribly surprising, though: "In 2010, ELCA ordained seven pastors in homosexual relationships." CAN homosexuals and transgenders serve God? Of course, but if real Christ-followers, they will also be confronted with their sin and work to resolve it. One cannot continue in habitual sin if being a Christ-follower is their goal.

There are many Christians who don't believe in divorce who believe anyone who was married is still married to their original spouse in the eyes of God, so anyone who marries again after a divorce is living in sin. I guess we'll just have to decide that no one really knows the mind of God and any opinions about sin are just that...opinions. I'll take my sin and live with it just like you live with yours...but I won't tell you what God thinks about you. Carry on.

I will not take anything you have to say about God even if you did feel so inclined. But We DO know some of what God thinks on many topics, sin being one of them. You would know that if you’d ever had even a passing acquaintance with the Bible. I’m not sure what your point is about divorce, it’s also sin under most circumstances today, but a snowflake wouldn’t know that, either.

Jesus was not a "nice guy" (see Mt 16:23, Mt 21:12-13). He was (is) the Truth Incarnate (Jn 1:14).
