Tom O'Leary, the coach at Servite, is an alum of Huntington HS (on Long Island)-which so happens to be my HS alma mater. HHS is one of the founding HS lacrosse programs on Long Island and even though they go up/down, is a true blue blood program. Coach at Oaks Christian (Geoff Sebold) is also a HHS guy (his brother was in my graduating class). You'd be surprised how many HHS guys went on to start programs in different parts of the country.

Friday night is D1 Finals for Boys LaCross.... epic wins for both publics over the favored privates.... CDM knocks out Mater Dei and Foothill eliminates St. Margarets.  Foothill beat CDM 8-7 during regular season. |

"The Corona del Mar boys lacrosse program had a difficult path to the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 championship this season.
The Sea Kings had to beat defending Division 1 champion Loyola, top-seeded Mater Dei and perennial powerhouse Foothill to win its first CIF-SS championship.
Lucas Newton scored three goals in the championship game against Foothill and is The Register’s Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year.
“My freshman and junior season we lost in the semis and never made it to a championship,” Newton said. “Everybody really bought in and the main goal was to win a championship.”
