I've used the analogy too many times in the past, but you have to feel a little bit like you're living in a Franz Kafka novel. You can only hope that decades from now dispassionate historians looking back on these events will laugh and wonder "What the #**! were these people thinking? These drama queens make McCarthy look like a mediator."

The Democratic Party and its useful idiots concocted self evidently absurd "Russian Collusion" charges against a sitting president with virtually no solid evidence and dragged the goddamn thing on for 2+ years when it was inherently obvious from the start that it was at best an incredibly dumbass "dirty trick" and at worst an attempt to delegitimize - if not eliminate - a duly elected president. This was followed by months of riots occurring in multiple major cities overlooked and excused (if not justified as "free speech") by those same partisan ideologues. They refused in many cases federal help to suppress the riots, which in the Northwest are still going on.

But when supporters of that same president stage their own riot it's the direct responsibility of the President, who needs to be impeached (even after he's out of office) for instigating an "assault against democracy": a one day riot which they state, contrary to the prolonged urban riots elsewhere, necessitated the mobilization of thousands of National Guardsman.......after it was already over.

Who's really assaulting democracy here? You could observe that the Democrats are instituting a gerontocracy featuring a cognitively impaired Joe Biden, an adolescent septuagenarian Speaker of the House, and a similarly cognitively impaired octogenarian Diane Feinstein, among others. 

I remember when national leaders used to be pretty normal, rational people who emphasized getting things done, prioritizing substance over symbolism. Joe Biden at one time was one of those reasonable people and he probably would  be a good change of pace if he had a few hundred million more intact synapses remaining. ..........................................Luca
