When my wife first told me about a billionaire who flew famous and rich people, and politicians around on his plane and introduced them to young girls, I thought "conspiracy theory." Why would a billionaire do that? You should ask your wife why she thinks Epstein is a billionaire.

Variants are being driven by the virus's reaction to the vaccinated. That's not true. Variants aren't "driven" by anything. They are mathematically random genetic mutations that occur in all viruses or other living cells when trillions and trillions of them replicate. A virus doesn't know there's a vaccine and therefore decides to mutate.

I think you both are right MD Dad. Any major variant will be vaccine resistant (otherwise it wont be a major variant, right), although it will be via random variation. French virologist and Nobel Prize winner Luc Montagnier says vaccination could create more deadly strains of the virus.

I'm sure Dr. Montagnier knows a lot more about virology than I do, but I suspect I may know more about probability and math than he does. His statements above are wrong. The vaccines did not create the virus. And when he says the vaccines "forced the virus to find another solution or die", he is suggesting the virus not only has the abilty to recognize the existence of the vaccines, but to conceptualize and choose an evasive countermeasure. That is either laughable, or a simple poor choice of words. Mathematically, vaccines had no bearing on the probability that the Delta variant evolved. The only impact of the vaccines is that they depressed the original strain, allowing the more infectious but less dangerous strain to become the more common variant. Viruses are pretty stupid nucleotide chains. They don't think, they don't react, and they don't conspire.

Just yesterday, I heard a friend mention COVID variant Mu; so if they are naming the variants in order, we are already through variants Alpha through Lambda (or variants 1-11)... which seems high, so either they are not naming them in order, or there have been a bunch of variants that have not been reported or followed: COVID-19: What is the Mu variant?

Great Britain just canceled their vaccine passport.

Dave and MD Dad, if the mu mutation becomes dominant after the Delta, it likely developed inside a vaccinated individual, I bet. It could have started in an unvaccinated and spread to the vaccinated, but it is unlikely. The vaccine resistant variants are the most likely to be wide-spread. I agree MD Dad, sometimes comments suggest viruses have brains - as if a virus can "outsmart" antibodies, or something to that effect. They evolve because of sheer numbers and survivability.

Interesting. It sounds like the vaccine is useless. Also, it makes me question the whole idea of a season flu shot. Eventually, everyone that was not vaccinated will develop an immunity that is 27 TIMES more effective at preventing serious illness against the Delta variant (and perhaps other variants too) and 13 TIMES more effective at preventing infection, according to the Israeli study. Israel is trying to fix their problem by offering a booster shot. We will see how that works out. Hopefully just multiple shots a year will work.

I don’t think the vaccine is useless… but it appears the definition of vaccine has changed from 2020 to 2021 (which is not shocking given the Democrat’s incredible ability to change the vernacular on a daily basis).
