Didn't have to call his name much tonight until the end. One helluva throw by Rasor hitting Tipton in the back of the EZ. #7 came up big for you guys Sorry I missed you. Hope you had a couple booster shots for me. Would have used him more..., we have a great group of sophomores and if you didn't watch the Frosh kids yesterday that group looks outstanding, I left after 3 quarters it was CDM 41 - 6 over your frosh. So what happens over there by the time we see them (or not) at Varsity!  Our best frosh & sophs are playing V. Starting center is a freshman. You got to see a bunch of guys last night who played against your 2019 varsity team as freshmen (and took some lumps back then!) Some schools like to keep their frosh classes together. |

Some schools like to keep their frosh classes together. ya we have a great Frosh program under Coach Griffin, and yes we keep them together as we need cohesive play to compensate on our other given limitations, its a formula that works for us pretty well, being the kids that are on frosh will likely for the most part be the entire same squad come varsity. |

@bick, seems like most leagues have the same pattern, two, three top dogs and the next 2 or 3 shouldn't be in that league. Did you really beat up on the Barons last night! Do you see any realignment of Sunset near term...? Can a team like FV ever get going or competitive with the upper half of Sunset?

We ran 15 offensive plays and were up 42-0. For the game, we ran 25 plays and 5 kneel-downs total, 4 inside their 5 yd line. Pretty easy to figure out what the game was like. Even had time to catch the Giants check-out of the playoffs. I really don't see another significant realignment in the near term. FV dominates wrestling, and is generally competitive in baseball. FV football WAS in the top 3 in 2013 & 2015, and was attracting some higher end talent, but the admin there really shot themselves in the foot. Word is they made it really tough on the youth teams using their back fields, which killed their feeder program. That decision became the impetus for the OC Buckeyes. You can see what's been going on with their head coach situation the past 6 years. If that doesn't speak volumes about the admin support, what does? Long winded way of saying, YES, they CAN be competitive in the league, but only if there's a change in admin philosophy or personnel. |

Virtually every league in every team sport in history has had a couple good teams at the top, a couple bad ones and the bottom, and the rest in the middle. It's why the bell curve is used to describe almost every natural distribution. As long as geography, and district membership are major factors in league alignment, unbalanced leagues are not going away. Without those factors, you might have (per Calpreps): South Coast LeagueMission Viejo Los Alamitos Edison Corona del Mar San Clemente Villa Park Sunset LeagueFoothill Yorba Linda Cypress San Juan Hills Orange El Modena Sea View LeagueTrabuco Hills Tustin El Toro Irvine Santa Ana La Habra |

That would be one ELITE public school league you have there at the top!
Ya @fv, it hurts to have to go through those games non the less.., FV would squeezed for talent no matter, between Los Al and Edison, why play there....

Was about to post something similiar, how great for the league to have 4 playoff teams with 1 making it to D1 and two in D2. Honored to be part of such a great public high school league, especially representing the OC!!

As much as I enjoyed watching the Griffins take you out to the wood shed these past 2 seasons, I'm able to put aside pettiness and root for our league mates to win in the playoffs. |
