The only way Kamala Harris knows to look for root causes is to dig up trees. If that doesn't work, I imagine she'd be pretty much out of ideas.

Two questions about NATO and this current crisis:
(1) If NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, how can Italy, Greece and Turkey be members? They are not remotely close to the north Atlantic.
(2) Russia is ostensibly invading Ukraine to preclude the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO and thereby posing a military threat to Russia. Couldn't that pretext have been prevented by inviting both nations to join? If Russia refused, they would be globally exposed as the expansionist aggressors they are. If they accepted, they would not only have been guaranteed no NATO member would ever attack them, but they also could never have moved on Ukraine. Sounds like a win-win.

Not sure what the end game is for Russia, but imagine trying to lord over Ukrainians that were known for terrorist attacks back a couple decades ago.
I think they're more formidable than the Afghans.
