If Putin were really the Russki badass he purports himself to be (with all the staged manly-man photo-op pictures he's had circulated of himself over the years) you wonder why he doesn't just settle things by challenging another Ukranian politician to mano a mano combat. Is this not the outcome of feckless liberal governments where the bully ultimately makes his own rules while stealing everyone's lunch money?
Who would try the tank driver, let alone hold him accountable?

Perhaps the West should demand the tank driver be tried for war crimes? That would be as effective as demanding that everyone fart perfume and crap rainbows. Until the western powers decide to take some kind of national Viagra, they are less than impotent in demanding anything that would require any kind of forceful response if Russia blows off the demand. Having written that, I find my use of the term "western powers" as a silly oxymoron. |

I don't know about that MDD. When Joe shook his fist, and Kamala wagged her finger at Putin with the threat of whatever it was they were going to do, it clearly deterred him from moving ahead with the invasion... for about as long as it took him to stop laughing.

Americans have been brought up on charges before. Just because a trial is held doesn't mean they are guilty. Perhaps there was a good reason for what he did. Also, Bick I agree, I don't know what kind of tank it was. My first thought it was Russian.
The reason I think we should push for a trial is because it looked like a civilian vehicle. You can't just murder civilians in a war because it would be fun. A trial could determine this. Who was the driver? What was his reasoning?

Biden didn't shake his fist, those were old-age tremors. And Kamala didn't wag her finger at Putin. She put her finger up to see which way the political wind was blowing. There's something about announcing sanctions ahead of time, and making it clear that you're not going to impose any really bad ones, that makes them less effective. |

Lots of misinformation out there about this war... and just about everything else really.
Russian casualty numbers being reported by the Ukraine seem really far fetched, but at least they've got a sense of humor.
