You have to wonder what the conclusion would be of a disinterested observer witnessing a scenario in which an elected president is investigated and subjected to continuous negative media speculation for years on manufactured evidence that was preposterous to begin with before it’s finally acknowledged that the entire episode was a deception. But then when an actual crime occurs - such as cocaine found in the White House - it merits only a cursory, inconclusive 11 day evaluation.
Especially when investigation of the former occupied Congress and the FBI with multiple hearings, a special committee and independent investigator, while the latter is discontinued after being determined it would take too much time for the Secret Service and distract from other essential responsibilities.
