It should be framed as the key differentiator between left and right. That is indeed a good example of what differentiates the left and right, but I don't think it's the key one. This is: Conservatives want to continue to do the things that have brought our species from walking on our knuckles to walking on the moon and exploring the farthest reaches of the universe -- family, religion, patriotism, capitalism, clear distinctions of right and wrong, personal initiative and accountability, rewarding merit, and many others. Progressives prefer to dismantle all those things and instead champion ideas that, in the entire history of mankind, have failed in every instance all over the planet. And they do so not only because they are convinced of their own more evolved state of enlightment when it comes to social and moral standards, but yes, also that they are more intelligent than the rest of us Neanderthals. They are convinced because their belief in their own superiority is reinforced 24/7 by academia, social media, the legacy media and the entertainment industry. There is noting more illustrative of their banal ideals and inflated opinions of themselves than listening to AOC incorrectly using big words that she clearly doesn't know the meaning of. It would be laughable if it wasn't so goddamn destructive. |
