I was looking at a map showing the cases of Measles in the U.S. so far in 2019 and it looked like an electoral college results map in reverse. With the exception of Texas and a swath up the Midwest, most of the cases are showing up on the coasts and the bluest of blue states (California, New York, Oregon, Washington, etc). Not surprisingly, these same states have some of the lowest vaccination rates in the nation.
So, the "flyover" states, filled with dumb country bumpkins who don't know enough to vote in their own self interest, are the ones who follow science & are smart enough to protect their children from diseases like measles? How could that be??

It seems to coincide with the prevailing philosophy. There is a higher percentage of people on the coasts who feel that government has responsibility for them and their wants. This translates into assuming that as long as everybody else gets vaccinated then they are themselves protected from epidemics by default, and hence no need for they themselves to get a few measly (Get it? Get it?) vaccines..............Luca
