I'm somewhat familiar and doing some research on high school recruiting sites. The bigger names NCSA, beRecruited, CaptainU, PrepHero and a slew of others. Do any of you have much experience with, used or have advice whether positive or negative on the subject? I understand if you are an ELITE athlete through playing hs ball/sport, playing on club teams, attending camps and combines you will have no issue getting noticed. Add your own social media, use HUDL, maxpreps, 247sports, rivals etc. Yet these recruiting sites have large data base applications including the educational aspect of playing or being recruited for college sport. Some go as far as being able to list academic scores and SATS. Here is a rundown of the top sites posted by PrepHero: prephero.com/college-recruiting-websites/MDdad, you have a take on these? Thnx

SK80, sorry, but I don't know anything about any of those sites, other than what I've heard from more than a few high school coaches. Much like the speed training and strength training guys floating around, there are probably a few good ones in a sea of bad apples just trying to separate naive and unrealistic parents from their money. Personally, if I had a kid who might be a marginal college player, I wouldn't touch one of those services with a ten-foot pole unless I personally knew the people running them.
And since you also mention Maxpreps and Hudl, I feel I should repeat something I think I posted on TOB some time ago: Anyone who relies on Maxpreps for accurate roster information is being very foolish. Maxpreps and Hudl are now essentially one company, and any kid with a Hudl account can place himself on the roster of any high school he wants. Unless the school has someone to regularly review their Maxpreps roster, the chances that they are cartoonishly incorrect is pretty high. Contrary to what Maxpreps has had listed in the past couple of years, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Jackie Robinson were never on the Mater Dei football team.
