This is too funny.... (via The Last Refuge website) (VIA CNN) Sen. Elizabeth Warren has apologized to Cherokee Nation leaders over her attempt to use a DNA test to confirm her past claims to Native American ancestry, the tribe said.
The presidential hopeful “reached out to us and has apologized to the tribe,” Cherokee Nation executive director of communications Julie Hubbard said in a statement.
“We are encouraged by this dialogue and understanding that being a Cherokee Nation tribal citizen is rooted in centuries of culture and laws not through DNA tests,” Hubbard added. “We are encouraged by her action and hope that the slurs and mockery of tribal citizens and Indian history and heritage will now come to an end.”

This culture of ritualized PC apologizing confuses me. Why does she need to "apologize" for having publicized the results of her DNA test? She didn't misstate the results and it was naïve of her to think that somehow the results even partially justified previously falsifying her background (for which I think she already acknowledged her fault), but I cannot see why simply releasing the DNA results itself requires an act of contrition.

We live in a time when the greatest crime any person can commit is to do or say anything that could remotely be considered offensive by anyone else on the planet. As a card-carrying member of the far left, Warren felt the need to apologize for releasing the results of her DNA test on the off-chance that it might have rubbed somebody the wrong way. If we all just learn to start every sentence with "I'm sorry" or "I apologize", it will go a long way towards solving this horrible, horrible problem.

I like the name "Liawatha" even better.
She "apologized" because her political polling must have indicated that the DNA test, rather than bolstering her claim to Native-American heritage, actually made her a laughingstock--while offending the Cherokee nation to boot. It's all political
Liz was Trump-trolled. Game over for her higher ambitions.

Leftist Liz is finished. Not sure one could ever become president if you are a enemy of Wall Street. An enemy of those whom employ. She is so far out on a limb and that limb has cracked.
Things can change in the economy but as it stands right now any of these Democratic wannabes are going to find it tough sledding on economics in the Trump economy. Obama laid a perfect 8 year chart of no growth, no wage increase, basically no nothing. Trumps actions are polar opposite of what the Democrats offer. Can't see how their vision defies reality. Only the Starbucks guy has a clue and the Democrats already hate him. Remember how much they LOVED him when they were putting liberal ideas on coffee cups! The hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze.

Despite her previous claims to the contrary, the registration card clearly shows Senator Warren did falsely claim “American Indian” heritage in her own handwriting. From the Washington Post - Warren filled out the card by hand in neat blue ink and signed it. Dated April 1986, it is the first document to surface showing Warren making the claim in her own handwriting. Her office didn’t dispute its authenticity.
