Have a little bet going on with my son (a Curry fan) on the Finals. I just can't root for a Northern California team, plus I'm tired of the Warriors since they acquired Durant and now Cousins. A Raptors upset would be a much better story line. O, Canada?

But it is a Northern California team with a Southern California Trinity league kid starting at the other guard.
I think that balances it out...

The Raptors are currently taking an injury-depleted Warriors team to the woodshed in Game 3. After the series is over Steph Curry can go cry to a Bette Midler album; serves him right for throwing shade to Trump by saying he was "not sure" if he wanted to visit the White House as NBA champs. If the series continues this way he won't have to worry about that dilemma.
Shut up and dribble!

Was having a conversation with a long time buddy of mine, that has been in the same fantasy football league with me for over 30 years. We joked about not knowing who GS was playing in the finals, and ended up talking 20 minutes about NFL minicamp.
Mind you, some 20 years ago, we could probably name the starters for EVERY NBA team.

Unless Durantula climbs out of his nest and spins a web around Kawahi the Warriors are done......

I think what we're seeing is what we already knew...that a very good or excellent team can beat half a great team.

Do we really need ads for Trojan while I'm watching Game 5 with my 11-year-old son?

As the great Jimi Hendrix once penned.... sung poetically....,
“And so castles made of sand, fall into the sea, eventually.”

I suppose this move is to ensure guys being paid millions each year to play a game won't feel like slaves.

They OWN the team. What the hell else are we supposed to call them?

Politically acceptable terms might be:
Holder Proprietor Possessor Legatee Title Holder Il Duce Fuhrer Master and Commander
The last few might be a little problematic. Nonetheless it is clear that with imaginative use of vocabulary we can end all human suffering and inequality while advancing into Churchill's "broad sunlit uplands."

I believe the term the PC crowd likes is "Caretaker". The person footing the bill and financially liable if the whole thing goes belly-up is no more than a caretaker for the team, holding it for a brief time until it is passed to another.
I believe Rich Devos used this phrase when he bought the Orlando Magic, saying something like he was just the caretaker for the team that belonged to the city of Orlando.

I own my house and my car. So I am their owners, not their goddamn caretakers. It's all just more political correctness trying to find another avenue to insinuate itself and undermine our language.

The owner owns the team, not the players. Is that so hard to figure out?
So is the phrase "You got owned!" now racist?
