Trump screwed up their plans by fixing his own initial screw-up in finally getting rid of the recused Jeff Sessions and nominating a real A.G. in Bill Barr. The moment he was confirmed the jig was up for Mueller and his investigation.
Daddy was gone on a two-year business trip and brought down the hammer on the kids who got used to running the house while he was away.

It was all about the narrative. Same with the new goalpost of "obstruction." Haven't heard a single specific charge in that case either.

I truly and honestly hesitate to call any person "evil" but Hillary Clinton really fits the bill among political figures.

Hillary was subject to more investigations than the Mueller report and was not found a criminal. Trump wasn't going to be either. It's all about their handlers. If you are talking about her email, then you really need to rethink that. I'm an IT guy and have done a fair amount of reading on what really occurred, along with already having a good understanding of the Blackberry system she was using and the state of technology at the time this all happened. You really need to get over it. What the Trump campaign was after was a silver bullet and they found some things that resonated with people through the DNC emails that hit WikiLeaks. They were able to latch on to some of her globalization comments, take them out of context and spin them into his MAGA mantra. It gave him a bump. What really killed Hillary's last hope was Comey making that very odd late announcement, but that's another topic for another thread. I'm sorry--the Hillary email case has nothing to do with IT. She directed the deletion of 30,000+ emails that were under subpoena. You or I do that, and we're in the graybar motel. End of story. She was never going to be charged because: 1) the Obama DOJ was covering for her as his anointed successor; 2) the discovery process would have revealed that Obama himself was knowingly communicating official business with her on her private email in direct contradiction of his statement that he only learned about it via news reports. It really does have everything to do with technology. 1) Hilary was the equivalent to a high level executive in most corporations. They never understand the technology, but rely on others to advise them. 2) The blackberry server technology really was a very secure system and according to evidence found, Hilary believed her technology team had set it up properly and she was in compliance. 3) The "missing" emails were never "missing" per se. They were "wiped" from the server using another technology, which is what is supposed to happen to such documents. I believe she did knowingly use the system for transmitting confidential email, but I believe (as she originally stated) that she did so believing (using the advice of her technology team) that it was acceptable to do so. What she did later by denying it publicly, was unacceptable but rather typical of politicians these days and certainly no different than what Trump is doing nearly every day. |

The training required in handling classified documents eliminates any gray area, and shoots a torpedo through the "I didn't know any better" argument. It's why those that violate protocols end up in jail. Hillary had a SCIF set up in her home as some high level gov't officials do. She moved classified documents from that SCIF onto her private server. I'm not going to try to argue IT, as I am no expert. But if we're going to start entertaining the idea that Hillary Clinton had this system set up with benign intentions, that's an absolute non-starter. The woman doesn't utter a single word without making a political and financial calculation.

I'm not going to try to argue IT, as I am no expert. But if we're going to start entertaining the idea that Hillary Clinton had this system set up with benign intentions, that's an absolute non-starter. The woman doesn't utter a single word without making a political and financial calculation. Intent is pretty much impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The facts themselves, and the law and penalties that go with the handling of classified docs is not. Our DOJ decided to invent language so as not to have to prosecute. The question now is whether or not Trump instructs the DOJ to investigate Comey. A few dominoes would fall IMO. |

I agree more than a few would fall but does Trump take a chance that is leads to something else even in the remotest way... giving the media another circumstantial or conspiracy bone to chew on?

Seems to me that Trump isn't the least bit concerned what the media thinks. If anything, the guy seems to throw them sides of beef to feast on at every turn
