Kupp...You're a Bosco guy, right? What's the deal with trying to keep players there who want to leave? I mean, I wouldn't doubt they haven't tried to stop a kid from leaving. I wouldn't be surprised if they made an issue with Mark Ard leaving recently because he had just arrived a few months ago. They try to keep players and try to understand why they want to leave. As coaches, you put a lot of time in to these kids so nobody wants to see someone leave who can be a big help to the team. Are there some recent examples?? Alex Miskela & Matt Faupusa

When he transferred in from Los Al it was reported that Matt Faupusa's family would not move, which would result in him sitting out the first five games. Maybe he had second thoughts about spending much of the season on the sidelines. Mark Ard, on the other hand, is a C/B and perhaps he feared not seeing much of the field should another high profile C/B arrive on campus...

Bosco corners is the weakest position. He would have absolutely played a ton. He never really fit in with the team. Very low key kid

Maybe he had second thoughts about spending much of the season on the sidelines. I think there's some confusion. He xfer'd from Bosco after his sophomore year, and had to sit out 5 games at Los Al. He lived in the Los Al district.

...that high profile corner is not coming... So he's staying at Narbonne after all? yeah, supposedly the penalty thats being handed down may only consists of post season ban. Most of these dudes don't care about that too much. They ready to move on after regular season. Expecting Jake Garcia to bounce after his junior year. He won't really have a choice.

Most of these dudes don't care about that too much. They ready to move on after regular season. This is the main reason why I think a post-season, instead of a first 5 game, ban for xfers makes the most sense. It would serve as a significant disincentive for coaches seeking to add guys in their quest for national recognition, and wouldn't really penalize the athlete that was looking for more recruiting exposure. My sense is the coaches would be the ones putting the kibosh on the xfers, and might actually be more inclined to play with the hands they were dealt.

post season ban for transfers would really end transfers for many. That would be the surest way to get it to "slow" down.

Mark Ard is not at Bosco now? Where is he? I believe Mission Viejo? MaxPreps showed him added to Bosco's roster on Jan 9th, and then added back to Santa Margarita's roster February 20th.
