A year long study yielded no change. Now there's a great use of funds.
Maybe they could raise school fees again so we could have another study done?

I'm always fascinated when people are surprised by announcements like this. It's almost like they believe that some kind of intelligence exists at the CIF offices.

They lost Trillian. Has he landed anywhere? Glad to have finally found you all. HSFB season just wasn't the same. Trillian is now at his fifth school...Colony.

Welcome Supermonster! What was your old user name at T.O.B? (T.O.B is how we refer to that other board.)

Wanted to quash a rumor about our freshman QB wanting to xfer out of Los Al. I have it from a very, very well placed source that it just ain't so.

Thanks, Bick. And if anyone had any illusions that he might be transferring to Mater Dei, that also just ain't so.
On the other hand, I've found that it's usually the dominant parent, and not the son, who determines if transfers happen or not.

Agree. I think the player himself would be considered a "very well placed" source, and the dominant parent would be a "very, very well placed" source.

More thoughts about transfers going to a Mater Dei or Bosco. If you're a QB, and every player on your side of the ball is better than every player on the other side of the ball, how does that help you prepare for the next level(s) when the talent is a helluva lot more equal?

I think you've got something there, Bick. Both J.T. Daniels and Bryce Young would have been much better prepared for college football if they had attended Estancia or Bolsa Grande and played against more equal competition.

More thoughts about transfers going to a Mater Dei or Bosco. If you're a QB, and every player on your side of the ball is better than every player on the other side of the ball, how does that help you prepare for the next level(s) when the talent is a helluva lot more equal? Taking into account MDDad's sarcasm (which does also make a good point), there may be something to what Bick says here. I think it's also partly the reason why Mater Dei basketball, despite being the most successful HS program over the past 35 years, has had very few players who went on to star in college and no one who has had an impact in the NBA. When every single individual player matchup is a win for your team, does this have the effect of making everyone on the more dominant team look that much better? That is, the great player is almost never double-teamed because there is someone else (or two or three) nearly as talented who the opposing team cannot afford to ignore. When a QB is virtually untouched because his entire O-line is composed of D-1 talent and he has four D-1 receivers, do we get a realistic sense of his abilities? Same goes for every other player on the field. This is not to say these guys aren't incredibly talented, because they clearly are. It's simply to observe that the sheer amount of talent on both sides of the ball has a kind of exponential multiplier effect. About the only time the players on Bosco or Mater Dei get to compete against a realistic opposition is when they play each other. The guys who really shined on Friday were Bryce Young and Kody Epps; Logan Loya had his moments, as did Jodie McDuffie--who benefited from drawing the 4th best cover guy on MD since the best three had their hands full with Loya, Collins, and Hutson. Even D.J., in the last two games against Mater Dei, has looked pretty human. Against an overmatched Servite, he still got pressured and couldn't just sit back and throw darts 40 yards down the field.
