I have not looked at this on my own.
But I am told not only did the Dow Jones drop 623 points Friday, but today’s Sunday Dow futures is openef at another 300 points lower.
I will bet you something that will never be proven: With all the liberal luminaries calling for a recession as the only way to defeat Trump in the next election, I bet Siri’s is behind this... and that it will get worse!

It wouldn't be horribly surprising if it dropped to just under 25,000 at some point over the next few months. Need to look at the trendline over the past 3 years to get a better perspective. Draw a line from the closing points on 2/12/16 to 12/14/18, and extend on that trajectory. Will be a little bearish if it breaks down through that line.

I'm no expert on this but the fundamentals of the economy (employment, wage growth, lower taxes and regulation) seem to be too strong to support recession. Trump is finally taking on the long overdue task of re-orientating trade policy with China in a way that is favorable to the American worker and not just to the bottom line of multinational corporations. A fair amount of Wall Street is highly opposed to any change in the status quo, thus the roller coaster on the stock market. Trump is supporting Main Street and not just Wall Street, and it will require some short-term pain for the overall greater gain that will come from weaning ourselves off dependency on cheap Chinese labor.
We're still the greatest economic power on the world; China needs us more than we need them.

My 401K is heavily weighted in Bonds so I’m not AS worried...
But it bothers me that the clueless liberal entertainers are calling for our economic destruction (something in which George Soros is continually interested) as a means to win an election. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...

Yeah, whenever I feel I need some guidance in rebalancing my portfolio, the first place I always go is to a bunch of anonymous dorks on an internet forum.
As best I can tell, JQP is an older guy who's still working for a living, so how sage an investor could he be?

Are we still in the Trump Stock Market or did we switch over to the Biden Stock Market? It depends on whether it went up or down that day.

Typically, a new president should not be given credit or blame for what the stock market does in his first six months in office. That is not the case in 2021. This is a Biden stock market since the first billion dollar boondoggle he rammed into law.
