Grace Brethern 54, Oaks Christian 28.
I thought this would be a competitive game, but Grace really beat the snot out of them in the 2nd half.
They look more like a TL team than anyone not in the TL. Big brusing lines, run-first philosophy yet good speed and a QB that's very mobile. Grace has gone from Div 13 10 years ago to Div 3 today-and probably Div 1/2 next year.
From how the mighty have fallen department: Bishop Diego 10, St Bonaventure 3.

D3 is going to be a lot of fun. Grace taking out a top 10 D1 team plus CDM and La Habra have impressed so far.

Looking back the past two weeks since the inception of this thread with Oaks Christian being the butt of it.... I have to ask...., WHAT THE "F" HAS HAPPENED TO OAKS?
A couple days ago sitting in a Mexi joint in Santa Ana I got a chance to watch the Fox replay of the Alemany vs Oaks Christian game played previously that week. Oaks got slapped all over the field 44-7 and the 7 came in slop time Q4. If you don't know Alemany QB Miller Moss a Jr. w/ offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, USC, Cal, Georgia and more you should and will! That aside the entire Alemany team simply crushed Oaks. Add Alemany to the shot at a D3 CIF Championship.
Oaks lost again this past Friday giving up 3 TD's in Q4 to Murrieta Valley. Something is up at O.C.. Are schools like Grace getting the kids in the north Valley area now instead of O.C. ?

Oaks is a high-end, rich-kid school-Grace much more of a shoestring operation. Big difference between Westlake and Simi Valley also.. |

It seems logical that Grace Brethren's meteoric rise has to be coming at some expense (in terms of football talent) to Oaks Christian; same with Sierra Canyon, another school that has purchased its way into the athletic elite. CIF-SS ought to throw both of those schools into D1/2 and see how they like it.
The rise of Calabasas might also be cutting into Oaks.
And what happened to Chaminade? They had a pretty good run for a few years but seem to have fallen off recently.

From what i heard Grace has gone all the way to Palmdale for talent. Lots of it out there.
Chaminade has academic standards.
I do suspect Calabasas has hurt Oaks (also Westlake)-it is an open enrollment public school bordering LA Unified. Wasn't that long ago that they were 1-10 every year before the Clausens showed up. Also notice that the talent that used to go to Oaks and Bonnie from western Ventura County now seems to be getting split up. Mack is at Oxnard and given his history as the builder of Bonnie kids may just decide to stay home and play.

Oxnard has built a pretty good program up there and Camarillo as well.
I agree Credo, throw these schools that practice 50+ mile recruiting and everything else that goes along with that into D1/2.
