Creating this thread mostly as a record to reference when the season is over. It can be helpful in determining what to expect in the next season. MaxPreps rarely has all the results.

I was over at Lakewood High School this afternoon and it looked like the CDM JV was taking it to their Lancers opponents.

You're just still pissed because you had so much trouble figuring out how to start new threads.

"poaching" as MDD would say.....? I live about a mile from Lakewood HS and my son is taking pitching lessons from their varsity pitching coach. Noticed the JV game happening on the adjacent field. Mentioned to the coach that I teach at Servite and that Lakewood's new football coach, Scott Meyer, was our head coach for a few seasons, and we talked a little about the intensity of Trinity League athletics. As soon as I mentioned St. John Bosco, he says "yeah, Bosco has sold out their academics for football," something I had averred to back at TOB last year. Of course, then "Bosco Bandwagon" would jump all over me with some non-denial denials. It's clearly a badly kept secret. But I digress....

Ya you think this is gonna be a loveliest out at Davidson Field tonight......! Week 3 High School Football Preview: Corona del Mar vs. LakewoodFormer Corona del Mar coach Scott Meyer, shown celebrating the Sea Kings’ CIF Southern Section Southern Division title in 2011, will coach against the Sea Kings on Friday night as the head coach of Lakewood. (Scott Smeltzer / Staff Photographer)
Breakdown: Corona del Mar (3-0) hosts its former coach Scott Meyer, the first-year head coach at Lakewood (1-2), in Friday’s nonleague game at Newport Harbor High .... Meyer was the head coach of CdM for four years from 2011-14. He won three CIF Southern Section titles and the 2013 CIF State Division III title before leaving for Servite, where he coached for three years. Meyer coached at University in 2018 ... CdM head coach Dan O’Shea was the defensive coordinator for Meyer when he coached the Sea Kings ... CdM, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 3, defeated Lakewood 35-0 last season

Hey, maybe switch up the title to FROSH & JV 2019, can keep an ongoing thread on "lower level" teams..... which looks at first glance like low division teams! Talk of upcoming players and scores sounds all good!
From Lakewood in which you attended........
FROSH: CDM 42 Lakewood 6
JV: CDM 33 Lakewood 0

Will CDM go easy on Meyer, because they are former colleagues, and (hopefully friends), or will they pour it on him, to show him that he shouldn't have deserted CDM?

Well honestly I have asked the question and honestly got no answer. Anyone whom knows O’ Shea nothing leaks.
Believe my point pick in the pool could go two ways as well. CDM could put 60-70 on them based what lesser teams have done to Lakewood. Question is does Dan call off the boys at the half and go JV. I have seen that more so though but. However you have a bunch of seniors whom want to play out their last games. Some chasing records.
Tough call. I could see 35-0 half and back ups come in Q3 or I could see Garbers playing into Q3 but not much more. Too much on the line for the season.
Has Meyer already approached O’ Shea asking for mercy is what you are really asking. Did MD give VP any!
