Partisan impeachment is going to destroy the Democrats in 2020 (an outcome I would gladly welcome). It would be better for them if enough of their members defected on the impeachment vote so that it dies a quiet death.

Sounds like something that was made up to troll the libs. No terms can be extended. It would help the Democrats if a law had been passed to prevent political self-immolation by passing a purely partisan impeachment vote, but I'm not going to stand in their way.... That and the fact that one online article is the ONLY place it is even mentioned...

Regarding the NJ Dem who is switching parties based on the impeachment proceedings, I don't think this should be allowed. His constituents voted him in as a Democrat. If he wants to vote with the Republicans, fine, but he should change parties at the next election. not midstream.
Changing political parties after being elected is like the woman who suddenly becomes prudish AFTER the wedding...

I agree in principle, but I also want to be sensitive to those who, in the current political turmoil, have stuck it out as long as they can and just cannot wait another moment.

I guess I agree with RSM (I know, WTF, right?) The guy can oppose impeachment and/or support conservative initiatives without changing parties. Before the recent partisan craziness, senators and congressmen used to do it all the time. But he should change parties when he runs for reelection, otherwise he's an example of false advertising.

Nevermind changing parties & deciding not to impeach the orange baboon ! " We have another plan." Nancy P "Hey !! We'll BUY impeachment !!"No no no .. no quid pro Joe here !! ... Where IS Joe ?Umm, but yeah, anyways, this ... this is all ' above board & honest' - just ask Nancy & Chuckles .. See ! .. .. this is all ' above board & honest'.. honestly... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy Pelosi’s rush to impeachment is receiving an assist from the millions of dollars at least one PAC aligned with her has already spent on House Democrats who currently represent swing districts.
Those financial incentives appear to be increasingly relevant as the final vote on the two articles of impeachment is scheduled to come to the House floor this week.
...... Pelosi and her allies appear to be taking no chances. “NEW … HOUSE MAJORITY FORWARD — an arm of House Majority PAC, which supports House Democrats — is spending $2.5 MILLION thanking HOUSE DEMOCRATS for voting for the Democrats’ most recent bill aimed at lowering the cost of prescription drugs for Americans,” Politico reported on Friday:.. All sixteen Democrat House members identified in the Politico report as beneficiaries of this current largesse from House Majority Forward are among the 31 House Democrats who represent districts President Trump won in 2016.
As of Sunday afternoon, two of them: Rep. Max Rose (D-NY) and Rep. Susie Lee (D-NV) have announced they will vote ‘yes’ on the articles of impeachment on the floor of the House this week.
But as of Sunday afternoon, the remaining 14 have not publicly stated how they will vote on the articles of impeachment.
Sources tell Breitbart News the recent House Majority Forward ad buy represents just a small percentage of the amount of financial support being promised to swing district Democrats by groups aligned with Speaker Pelosi and other Democrat leaders.Speaker Pelosi is also trying to get undecided Democrats in swing districts to vote ‘yes’ by giving them legislative wins that are important to their districts, as the Washington Post reported:
Pelosi has also tried to give moderates political cover with a series of legislative victories they can tout back home.
Among them are a major trade deal and passage of a sweeping defense bill with paid leave for federal workers, as well as votes on key campaign promises to lower the cost of prescription drugs and bolster voting rights.
Some moderates are getting even more. Rep. Anthony Brindisi, a Democratic centrist who is agonizing about how to vote, secured a major win in the defense bill that the House passed Wednesday — a provision designed to boost a local manufacturing plant in his district that Trump carried by more than 15 points.
Brindisi, who represents the conservative, Trump-supporting 22nd Congressional District in upstate New York, narrowly defeated Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY-22) in 2018, and she is mounting a vigorous campaign to win the seat back in 2020.
Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat allies appear to be using these classic legislative “quid pro quo” tactics to secure the impeachment of President Trump who, they claim, used “quid pro quo” tactics when dealing with the president of Ukraine.www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/12/15/buying-impeachment-nancy-pelosi-aligned-pac-spends-millions-help-swing-district-democrats/

Some truth about the new gonowhere impeachment dreamed up by democrats. Who look dumber every day ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amazing world we live in. Despite committing numerous blatant crimes, Hillary Clinton is exonerated by the left because they have the magical ability to read her mind and determine she did not "intend" to commit crimes.
Conversely, there's no evidence that Trump committed a single crime; yet, the left uses their mystical clairvoyance to determine that he "intended" to break the law and proceed to impeach him.
The Democrat Socialists really need to start using their amazing necromantic extrasensory powers for good; they could start by stopping the plethora of horrific atrocities committed by their inner city constituents. -- Zerimar www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/12/16/nolte-impeachment-approval-is-officially-underwater-in-average-of-polls/=================================================================================================== Although their impassioned cries might seem altruistic to a visitor from another universe, those of us who have been on Earth for the last few decades know that the “rule of law ” is relative for Democrats.
Democrats have become obsessed with “the rule of law ” as if pounding one’s fist on the desk made their demands all the more real despite their spotty record of flouting the rule of law in sanctuary cities;
concocting out of whole cloth articles of impeachment that do not fall within the clear limitations set forth in the Constitution of bribery, treason, and high crimes or misdemeanors
illegally spying on the Trump campaign ..
Their talk of truth is nothing short of otherworldly as they repeatedly distort the truth, in plain sight, to construct a tall tale of outrageous and dangerous impeachable conduct: lying about contact with the whistleblower, intentionally misquoting the transcript of the Zelensky call,
I was stuck in an alternate reality where 21st century liberals in America were actually… Tea Party patriots?
When did I step off the Tea Party train and, even worse, when did Pelosi, Schitt, and Nads climb aboard?
One day Democrats are characterizing tea partiers as Nazis, domestic terrorists, and crazy clingers in an astroturf movement mired in a Constitution that was outdated and written by silly men in powdered wigs… and the next day it turns out the Founding Fathers were woke. Who knew?
Impeachment fever struck some time after the 2016 election was called for Trump and Hillary had sufficiently recovered from the vapors to make a concession speech.
The first front was actually #metoo and the pussy hat brigade during the campaign.
Mueller was another.
Persistent leaks by embedded Obamacrats, another.
Obstructing Trump’s ability to govern effectively by blocking his ability to fill vacancies and make appointments, yet another -- forcing the president to operate with a skeleton crew…something, it turned out, at which he was quite adept.
Angry left-wing activists, media personalities, and politicians reflexively attacked anyone on the Trump team and effectively drove them out of their positions based on rumor, innuendo, and false accusations. Decent, devoted public servants suddenly found themselves defending their names and reputations with expensive lawsuits. Most would resign. Some were forced out. That was the clear aim from that front.
..Maybe the totalitarians did win after all.
