Pretty surprising stuff in this game. Illinois spotted Michigan 21 in the first half before coming back and making Michigan rally for the win.
The starting quarterback for Michigan was Matt Robinson, previously of JSerra. He's a red shirt freshman who began the season as a back-up until the starter was hurt. Against Michigan he went 16 of 25 for 196 yards and a touchdown, no interceptions. He started off slowly, got benched for one series and then came back to ignite an overmatched offense against pretty heavy Michigan pressure.
It's especially interesting because it was less than 18 months ago some of the Internet experts on TOB were saying he'd never see the field. Someone said recently that local high school kids rarely do well when they head East, but evidently there are exceptions.........................................Luca
